Title: bug in pointer search file selection
Post by: Foxx on August 18, 2008, 11:42:11 PM
Hey Link & Kenobi, thanks for making the WiiRD utility, ive been having lots of fun with it. I even did a tutorial video on it, you may have noticed ;}

Ok, to the point. I found a small bug in the Pointer Search. When you do a dump, it will auto-complete the dump*.bin file in the path to the file, however if you let the application fill it in by itself, it gets confusued and often doesnt display any results. However, if you click the File button and manually specify the dump*.bin files it works just fine.

I dont know if its just me using an old beta copy, or generally being an idiot. I just wanted to put it out there.

Ive found a few more bugs, but they are more of an annoyance than a major flaw.

I will check on that issue.. I for myself haven't been using the pointer search too often however, I guess there would be an easy workaround in the code for your issue!

Thanks for the report. I just fixed the bug (stupid error, forgot to put the application directory along with the filename when the memory if dumped with the "dump" button of the pointer tab). I'll send the new version to Link, so he can put it on the wiird site.
And don't hesitate to report any problem/annoyance (either on the forums, or by pm), even if they are just annoyances.

Oh, and great video btw ^_^
