Title: SD Gecko: What does it do?
Post by: craig34 on February 21, 2010, 12:56:12 AM
What is an SD Gecko, and what does it do? Can you use it like a USB Gecko, dump the memory of a game onto a USB card and sort through it on a computer? I ask because I'm looking to start hacking, and while I can't afford the $50 for a USB Gecko, but the $15 for an SD Gecko is doable.

Thanks for any help.

You cannot hack with an SD gecko and I do not believe you can dump memory onto it either, at least not directly, it is used like the SD Media Card Launcher by Datel for Homebrew on the Gamecube or on the Wii in GC mode. You can do memory dump with an app but it is buggy and any saves are not reusable at current. I have the sd launcher and the amount of GC homebrew is a joke it is a waste of money and I wish I had not bought it. Save your money and save up for a real USB Gecko. I could be wrong but I have seen the SD gecko refered to on GC homebrew sites for this purpose so I don't think so but it is possible. Anyways, since you cannot do either of the two things you wanted I would save my money for something else. Hope this help. Best of luck to you. Have a good one. Later.

Sincerely,
