I have a USB gecko. I have installed BootMii and the Homebrew channel onto my Wii 4.2 using BannerBomb. Could someone PLEASE tell me what to do next? After countless hours of searching, with all the duplicate versions of things with one feature different on each one, I still don't know a WiiRd from a Gecko OS. Could someone please walk me through each step and provide links to the downloads I need?
Thanks in advance.
Also of note, I don't need the whole region free thing. Just need to cheat, or orcana thing.
Since I don't have a USB Gecko, I don't know how it works regarding loading Wiird codes with it.
But if you want the basic Gecko OS, download it from this site (link is at the announcements, below the warning not to update) and put it in:
SD:/apps
Codes (GCT) go:
SD:/codes
I believe... Wiird is a computer application that "connects" yuor USB Gecko to your computer. I'm not too sure.
Download Wiird and connect your USB Gecko to the PC via USB cable. Put a game and start playing then open Wiird on your PC now the Wii and PC are talking. From there it is up to you to use the program correctly to make your codes. I strongly urge you to learn Hex and how to convert it to decimal as well as read the following information at these links http://wiird.l0nk.org/codetypes.html http://members.cox.net/dexter0/WiiHacking/example2.shtml and then try doing some of GMO's tutorials in the "Wii Game hacking help" section. After that you will be ready to start hacking on your own. It depends on how much time you put into it, how fast you read/learn, and natual talent with code but I started the process about 6 weeks ago and got my first code to work just a couple days ago. I am slow though so it could take you much less time, but do not expect to be making codes tonight unless you already know hex and have a photographic memory plus the ability to speed read. BTW this stuff just covers the basics if you want to get into writing more complex codes then you will have to find and read the material on them such as ASM codes and pointers. Sorry it took so long to get you a response I just noticed your question. Best of luck to you. Have a good one.
Sincerely,
Elmoreas
A couple of clarification in case you still need these:
Geckoos is a wiibrew application (i.e. running on wii), typically through Homebrew Channel.
Wiird is a PC application that you are using with both USBGecko and Geckoos running.
You need to put USBGecko in memory slot B location.
