I have a similar question...perhaps it is the same answer.  I have been using Cheat Manager for about a year now for codes on Wii games.  I find myself wanting to do the same thing with a VC WiiWare game.

What do I need to do to make Gecko load a VC game like Final Fantasy IV The After Years as opposed to the disc in the ROM drive?

Here are my current specs
Wii Ver.4.2U NTSC US
I am using Cheat Manager 0.3
Gecko OS 1.9.3

Are there other apps I need to run cheats on a wiiware game?

Any advise or direction is greatly appreciated.

You first need to use Trucha Bug Restorer or DOP-IOS MOD to patch Trucha bug back to IOS36.
Then you just start Gecko and go to "Launch Channel" (assuming you have the .gct on your SD card just like with normal games).
