I was talking to James0x57 and decided to clip out my segment from BSoD Episode 24 and make a downloadable and streaming version of my Intro to Wii RAM Hacking Segment.
This is a begginers guide to the basics on Wii RAM hacking, searching for values, finding pointers, and making simple codes. This is not aimed for very complex hacks and cheats, its more for the beginers that would like to get started.

I would suggest the download version, streaming video is always kinda' crappy. Either way, enjoy!
(can one of the admins add the HTML code to embed the video here? That way im not whoring out BSoD as much?)
This really is an excellent video tutorial on simple game hacking.
I STRONGLY recommend anyone even slightly interested in Wii hacking to watch it!
Also, stickied. :D
Thank you, Foxx. =)
Dont thank me. Thank everyone that made this possible! Im just glad I can help out with this tutorial.
Any way to embed the flash player and video into the post?
155mb?
that has to be one hell of a tutorial
This tutorial is really really good.. I just watched it.. very good for beginners. Awesome work there!
Sorry, Foxx, there isn't any way for me to add that feature. (I'm just a moderator) :)
I'm downloading it now! I can't wait to watch it! I am so freaking interested in hacking codes. I just need to money for a USB Gecko! Thanx for the vid!! ^_^
[Edit] Damn you Foxx!!! Now I want a USB Gecko even more. That was a great video. I thought it was cool as hell. I really enjoyed seeing how the codes are hacked. Now I need to get a USB Gecko and try this for myself! I have a ton of games too so if I am able to get good at hacking codes, I will be able to contribute a lot to the community!
like i just said via PM, this is the best video tutorial on USB Gecko i've seen, its very informative and useful.
gold star for you :P
Great! I can't wait to watch this. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the positive reviews, but lets all pay our dues to Nuke, Link, and Kenobi. Without their work none of this would be possible. Im glad you guys liked the video. If I have a chance I may do some more, I would like to showcase Ocarina as well. Ill be sure to let you all know if and when I come up with some more. If you like good ol' hacking and fun, check out //www.BSoDtv.org
155MB - the video is a little over 20 minutes long. Dont worry, the time flies by. I really cram packed as much as I could in without being overly complex. The downloadable version is a lot more crisp and clear than then the streaming video, id suggest downloading it...
i have made a video forum, as request. Have copied your video post thread there.
Yo nice tutorial.
I already read a guide on mario galaxy from dexter for 99 lives wich seemed very easy
but after viewing this i think i might be able to make a infinite life cheat myself.
its sure was helpful and really easy to understand,I cant wait to try it btw the gecko already is shipped just 2-4 more days than i can get busy.
ps. the inf healt is the same for every game right?
Thanks for this Video Foxx..I now understand how to find pointer codes...still havent really tried yet,but after wathcing your video I will be trying it on the next game I play that will require pointer codes.
:clap:clap:clap
Excellent Video Tutorial
I will be checking out the BSoDtv site now also...
Hah, awesome Shark2003. James0x57 said the same thing. he didnt know how to use the pointer search. Although perhaps i should let Link know about that bug i found in the pointer search files i found. It took me 2 hours to figure out why it wouldnt work!
Note: I had my own ways of finding pointers! lol
That tutorial did teach me how to use the built in one though. lol Should save me some time for future searches. :D
Gald even you were able to walk away learning something James, Thats makes me feel like i did a half decent job. To be honest, i didnt think anyone would care for the segment. Glad everyone likes it...
What tool were you using for the pointers search??
I just use searches in the GUI (I know how to find them). I also wrote a tool to automatically find and create them for GameCube. (and in corroboration with my other program, I can actually make pointer codes for Wii too)
But yeah, like I said to you on IRC, it really is well done. The visual learning is a huge leap from text-based tutorials with screen shots thrown in. Tis just so much easier to mimic when you SEE it happen right infront of you. :)
Yes,the video tutorials seem to clear up alot about what we are trying to accomplish and I am glad to see that there is a site dedicated to bringing that element of hacking education to the masses...

Thanks a lot for the tutorial, I am going to buy a USB Gecko very soon.
Thanks a ton for the video, I had forgotten I knew how to do all this stuff from back when I played everquest in like 2000, this really got the juices flowing.
damn u guys are life savers! :)
O0 this is fucking awsome
Wow, thanks a ton, I never thought I would understand coding but now I (somewhat) do! ;D I just have 2 questions though:
Where can I get a USB Gecko with a cable included?
Do you have a tutorial on finding values that are not displayed on screen? (Example: a pikmin's health in Pikmin Wii)

You can get one here (http://www.chollogame.es/epages/61488288.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61488288/Products/ngc_usbgecko), or another online console shop.
The cable (just a standard USB <-> mini USB) is included.
In this Topic (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,2620.0.html) is explained (in text) how you can find health if it is not displayed.

Thanks, now I have to find an enemy that does not kill pikmin in one hit... might be tough. :P

Very nice Video Tut. indeed! I myself am preparing for my arrival of my USB Gecko which should be here in a day or 2.
This will definitely help for beginners like myself who mostly associates with Pictorials. I am a hands on type, but now I can marry the wording input to what I have seen.
Thank You. :)
ok...i am the noob of the day.. where do i get that gecko/memory card thing?
can u do this kind of stuff on the dolphin emulator?
also im a bit stuck on making some codes. there is a game called "Bleach Versus Crusade" and in the game u have some bars representing your energy (not HP but manna) I wanna make a cheat where the energy bars are always maximum but there are no numbers just a bar drawn graphically to represent the amount of energy I have. How would I make it so that it is always full. Also in the game there is a temporary state where u gain unlimited energy so I want to basically have that effect throughout the game.
Hi everybody,
I'm new to usb gecko and I'd like to download the video tutorial but it's really slow.
I've started downloading 2 day ago and I'm still at 30%.
Please, can anybody upload it on a faster server?
Thanks in advance
