All your homebrew needs.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps

Same setup as Ocarina (root/apps/new folder)

You rename said elf to boot.elf, one per folder, icon.png / meta.xml go along side (but not necessary)

For most of them, they are available on that site (inside the zips). If they aren't, I can't say.

Let me make this clear. To simply RUN an app, all you need is a elf/dol. But to RUN the app and have metadata and an icon, you need the xml and the icon file.

On the root of your SD card, you should see a folder called "WIISAVES".  If you wish to make a copy of it, just copy the entire folder.  However, leave that folder, and all of its contents, on your SD card.  If you ever need to place it back onto your Wii, use the Savegame Installer.

Umm... hello, I'm new here. One of the reasons I came is to figure out how to run the Save Extractor, so I'm here.
I'm trying everything! But I still don't know how to make it work with the Twilight Hack or the Homebrew channel, I need help...

Save Extractor on Homebrew channel instructions:

1 : Locate "apps" folder on SD card
2 : Create "Save Extractor" folder inside "apps" folder
3 : Download http://wiibrew.org/w/images/2/27/Savegame-Extractor_v2.0.zip
4 : Place either the dol or elf file in said "Save Extractor" folder
5 : Rename dol or elf to boot.dol or boot.elf (respectively)
6 : (Optional) Add "meta.xml" and "icon.png" files to the folder (They don't seem to be in this zip)
7 : Load up Homebrew Channel
8 : Find the application (with icon.png, it shows the icon, without, it shows just a text name)

icon.png -- (Dunno the source...)

meta.xml -- (Basic text file, it has this inside...)

Savegame Extractor

Extract Wii Saves
Use this application to export save files from your Wii to your SD card. This will work even on saves that normally cannot be extracted. You will need the game disc for the save file you are extracting.

Forgive me for double posting, but it seems I have encountered some problems again, this time with the save game installer.
After trying out some codes, now my Brawl game can't access the replay section, so I thought that was unfixable so I decided to try out the save game installer.
But every time I put it in my SD card, exactly the same way as the Extractor, when I go onto the Homebrew Channel, it goes to a black screen full of random codes or something. When the installer isn't in, the channel works normally. What is going on?

Just making sure...

You have a separate folder for the installer?

Inside separate folder you have proper boot.dol / boot.elf (only 1!)

If so... can't help, I've never actually used the installer before but... if I'm reading that right... your homebrew channel doesn't even load... meaning that there is some sort of conflict arising while loading the SD application menu.

I've done the separate folder thing.
I'm thinking that I just have too much stuff on the channel, or that the Save Extractor and Installer can't be in the same place. I'm leaning toward the latter, I'll test it later today.

Does the problem only happen with the Savegame Installer on your SD card?  I have both on there, and have never had any problems.  Also, would it be possible for you to provide an image of the error screen?

Yes, every time the Installer is in the SD Card, the thing happens, but when I take it out, the channel returns to normal.
I could try to provide an image, but I might only be able to provide through email or something. I can only take pictures with my Digital camera, so it might not come out too good, but I can try. I'll try later today or sometime this week. Depends on how lazy I am.

Just a thought, but do you have an 'icon.png' file included with it?  If so, try to remove just that file.

After doing a few things that I should've done to the Save Extractor, and getting rid of the icon.png file, it works!
