Alright people,
As you probably know me from my other topic named "my n00b story" which i posted a while ago, i ended up just ordering a USB gecko.
In which case i have a whole new set of questions: Do i need any programs/apps to get it running? and how should i start by making some codes? (i know how from my PC gaming hacks) so my question would be how can i get to the screen to make the hacks? any other way?

P.S. i could use any tips/tricks on my way to hacking :D
You need to install wiird in your PC, and you could go to the video tutorial section in this forum:

to learn more.
I like the Romaap tutorial on breakpoint, it gave me a great information on how to use some features in the GUI version of wiird.

The breakpoint video teaches some advanced stuff, so you could better wait untill you know the basics.

Plug your usb gecko into your PC and into the Wii
This often gets people so here is a pic:

Start your game through gecko os, after it loads beyond the standard white danger screen then run WiiRd which should hook into the game and you can start poking around
You may have to change the hook type in gecko os to get some games to work
Ok, so the "white danger screen" is after gecko os has run? like where is shows the kid hitting something :P and im obviously using it for COD (My name) and i have it on osssleepthread ans i think it should work.....
im on it RIGHT now, i have my usb gecko set up (also, one question: do i need to do that installation everytime i plug it in?) and my wiird.gui just says starting but NOTHING happens!!!! HELP ASAP!! ???
If you have Vista, then you could just plug in you USBGecko and Vista installs the drivers automatically (only required for the first time)
Then start a game with Gecko 1.9.2 and make sure to go to the options and set "debugger" to on.
When the game is loaded open WiiRD and it should automatically detect the game.
it cant detect mine, it says:
>gamestatus
sending command
error sending commant
resetting USB gecko device driver!
connection resetted!
>gamestatus
etc.........
