Hi, first time here.
My Wii have the firmware 4.1 with the Home Brew Channel installed. Now I wan to use cheat codes on WiiWare games, but, for what I have read on internet, with the firmware 4.1 I can't. So, i planning to downgrade my Wii so I can. But I have a question. If I downgrade mi Wii's firmware, Can I upgrade it later on with no problems?
That should not be any problems. Note however that downgrading is dangerous and you should be fully aware of what you're doing.
If you are able to install BootMii I suggest you do so and make a NAND backup, just in case.
Note #2. Any disks you run that contains an upgrade newer than the one you currently have/downgrades to will automatically owerwrite it.
Thanks. I belive I'm going to wait for a newer version of Gecko OS or somthing (Yes I know, when the update of the firmware, they left out the way to cheat on WiiWare games, but...). I never was very confortable downgrading and if it dangerous, well...
Again, thanks.
But if you install BootMii first, then you can go all out.
Because with BootMii you can backup the Wii's memory and restore it when you screwed up your Wii.
note: BootMii can only be installed on "older" Wii's, bought before early 2009.
Thanks, I didn't know than you could make a back up of the Wii. I just did the backup and sucessfully downgraded my Wii to 3.2u. Again, thanks, both of you.
