Title: USB Gecko and Gamecube saves
Post by: aero on August 28, 2009, 07:27:50 PM
I'm surprisingly dumbfounded by the USB Gecko. All I want is to copy saves from my 1st party gamecube memory cards to my computer without any problems, but despite promises made by the site I bought the USB Gecko from I can't find anything that will do this besides an old "Gecko Tool" program I was able to hunt down that doesn't seem to work and has no instructions.

I tried NuGaSa before all this, but I don't really trust it, I had heard using a USB Gecko would be a more reliable solution.

So, is it even possible? If it is, how do I do it?

(I've got a Wii w/ Homebrew Channel and GeckoOS 1.9.2 among other things, and a Gamecube, any help is appreciated)

You have to start GeckoOS on your Wii and geckocard from this (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4122.0.html) page on your computer.

so is there any way to make the USB gecko pretend to be a real GC memory card, so games can save directly to the PC?  I already know enough coding to make a app that can send and receive data through the gecko, all I really need to know is what data needs to be sent to the gecko to make it pretend to be a memory card (if it is possible)?
