ok. i recently got into hacking :D. but heres the story..... i figured out(by myslef, and some youtube videos) i have homebrew, gecko OS 1.9.1, code manager. and i used some test codes, and succesfully hacked Call Of Duty 5. heres the sad part, i want to make codes now, i know you need the USB gecko. but i went to take the Hacker Test here, and i had no idea what it was all about, anyone have any tips of how i can learn all this? c'mon, we were all a n00b at one point, right? i just need a little help, i know about HEX codes, and all that, do i need to know how to do it mentally? or use a generator? and how do i learn all the bytes things? (like how many bytes are in Wii Sports [one of the questions]) so, anyone that can help. i would love that, i want to learn to make my own codes!!
Thanks!!!! ???
you should just start hacking with wiird.
You don't need to be a hacker on these forums to make your own codes. Making codes first is probably the fastest way to learn.

Yeah, but once i get a USB gecko, will i have ANY idea of how to work it?? all the questions on the hacker test, i didnt really know any of them, and it seems you would probably have to know the answers if you want to make your own codes
the questions on the hacker test require a USBgecko. Thats why you cant do them lol

awww, snap! haha, thats why!! ok, but do you think i will understand how to even make codes? alot of hackers say its really hard, and i just dont want to spend the money on something i will have no idea how to use :(
Did you ever used Cheat Engine or something similar?

no you don't need to downgrade, and Cheat engine/Art Money are cheat creation tools for the PC I suggest downloading cheat engine and try hacking a game like Adventure Quest (broswer based game).
ps hacking ram write and fill codes aren't that hard.... and you can't hack with a SD gecko, but it can be used to load the Gamecube version of gecko OS for debuging on gamecube games

ok i will, i already hacked motherload so ill keep tryin different games
so, do you think i should get a USB gecko? is it worth it?
For my case, I have a lot of more fun playing games with the ability to use USB Gecko for finding out how the games work and whether there is possibility to modify the games. So it was definitely a good decision for my need. Since its price now is actually less than or about the same as 1 game price, then just count it as like buying one more game (but could be used over and over and over).
Cheers.

tell me if you get anywhere, and if these helped you :D
how would you go by making the "renamer" codes, i know you need HEXs (for your names) and the wiimote joker commands, but im not sure how you would go by making them.........
You can do ASCII searches in the memory viewer.
Just go to the memory viewer and click the box with ASCII and type in your name and search.
ASCII searches are slow...
ah alright, i think ill just get a USB gecko, but im getting an xbox so is it worth gettin one, then playin xbox too?i guess if i stilll play alot, but im not sure
EDIT:
281B6362 7FFFXXXX <<1 name (20 characters max)
067E4EFC 000000XX
YYYYYYYY YYYYYYYY
E0000000 80008000
281B6362 EFFFXXXX <<2nd name(20 characters max)
067E4EFC 000000XX
YYYYYYYY YYYYYYYY
E0000000 80008000
this only allows me to have 2 extra names, but i have one over 20 and the second one doesnt work, anyway to improve it?
