trying to find some info on how to make GPF patches to use with the new gecko. I've been searching but can't seem to find much on the subject a link or something would help Thanks
edit: NeverMind found it Man i feel stupid, Mods can delete this thread. Thanks
Sorry my bad english, and to use this tread that previous user wants to close :p !
Is there an other source of info like the file "doc/gpf file format.txt" ?
Ok I presume that there isn't any other source of informations about the GPF files :p , so I'll try to expose my doubts.
1 - Has the gpf the same role of ppf(PlaystationPatchFile) or ips(used in old roms), only that the gpf is applied on the fly by the geckos ?
2 - Does the address refers to the decrypted iso or encrypted iso ?
3 - If I would like to make a request for developers of geckos ::) , can you increase the number of bytes reserved to store the number of patchs from 1(u_char) to 4(u_int), please :-* ?
I hope not to have made too many mistakes! :-\
But I have mistaken forum ??? ?
Does nobody :'( knows something about it?
Any response is good to me, even "Shut up, little ridiculous lamer!" :D
gpf just patches the data at certain locations.
nothing to do with anything else.
Thanks for the response, hetoan2 :D !
So ??? ... Can the gpf be used to apply a translation of a whole game?
I think it can, but then the text should be always at the same place in memory.
Then the "Patch Destination"(in 'doc/gpf file format.txt':row 4) refers to address in the memory :-\ not to address in the Dvd. Is It so?
Yeah, the patch patches memory. Just like normal codes would do.
Thanks Romaap ;) !
Then for the moment the geckos isn't usable to apply on the fly "our translation" to the game's Dvd. Is It possible, for absurd, that in future the geckos will have the feature to apply patchs even at the Dvd ?
thats what I would want ^^
no need to burn a game when you think youve found a debug menu in the disk.
