Alright, I'll just admit, after reading through all the threads relating to codes for WiiWare, I still have no idea how to do it.
I'm going to swallow my pride and just ask. Can someone just walk me through from A to Z on this process works?

what game? what version of Gecko? what codes? If you want I can make a GCT file for you, so all you have to do is lanch the channel through Gecko.
That's it, I'm not 100% sure how to do the whole process and launch a channel through Gecko. ???
But if you can help me out...
I'm 4.0, with Gecko 1.9.1.
The games I'd like to screw around/pound into the ground as payback are Onslaught, and Megaman 9/Gradius Rebirth respectively.
just make an .gct file with CodeManager like you would do for every other game. (make sure you have the latest version)
Then load the channel with Gecko by clicking "launch channel" and select the channel you want.
Does somebody know whether linus will make an update for his homebrew application 'WiiCM'? It seems that Link's new Code Manager for PCs is the only application at this time that can make codes for "Majora's Mask" working in Gecko. Unfortunately my PC is currently not working and because of this I am reliant on homebrew applications.
Hmmm, I get an error when I try the channel launcher, does the channel have to be somewhere in particular? Since they're just on my Wii menu. (I forget the real name)

I dont use the ocarina often, but I beleave the The homebrew program "Cheat Manager" can handle the Ids as well.
Yes, "Cheat Manager" can handle this. I use this application a lot and it works for all VC and WiiWare games. It works for all games but one: Majora's Mask. ;) I don't know what the problem with this game is and I know of three others in this forum who mentioned to don't get this games codes to work. Someone here said that only the new Code Manager can solve this problem. But I can't test it with a non-working PC. ;) That's why I ask for updates for the homebrew code managers.
I have System Menu 4.0 and whenever I try to load a channel via GeckoS it fails.
My question is if it is necessary to have another system version (below 4.0) in order to apply codes for VC and Wiiware games.
If not,how is it possible to do it using 4.0?

Oh, you have to downgrade, oh well. I can wait it out until the next Gecko update since I'm to chickenshit to fiddle with the hardware of the wii outside of installing Homebrew.
doubt you'll ever be able to load it without downgrading.
Channel booting and rebooter rely 100% on the trucha bug. Which has now been removed in latest versions of everything -.-
Alright, I got the rebooter for channels to work. But I still don't have a lick of an idea of how to create the codes. Since, how do you apply the game idea, or is it just the 4 letter code?
The new code manager (PC) 3.2 supports VC codes now. Just apply them like you would any other game. Just use the 4 letter game ID according to whatever game you want to apply codes to.
I'm a mac user so that really puts me in a bind.
Okay, i have a mac too, so i'll tell you what i do.
1.) Open text edit, and write the game ID at the top of the page. Underneath, write the game name.
2.) Go down like two spaces, and then write the codename, and underneath that, write the actual code. It should look like this:
WR9E
Megaman 9
Infinite Items [hetoan2]
00D4101E 00050009
Infinite Lives [hetoan2]
00313FE4 00050009
Infinite HP [hetoan2]
00313F4F 0000001C
etc.,etc.,etc.......
Thats how i think its done. After you finish typing all the codes you want, make a folder on the root of your SD card called "txtcodes". Drag the txt file you made to this folder.
Then, get the cheat manager app here: http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/CheatManager. (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/CheatManager.) Put it in the apps folder, and then launch it through the homebrew channel.
It should locate the txt file on your sd card, just press A on it. Press + on the codes you want to apply, and - on the ones you don't want. When you're done, press 1 to generate a GCT file out of you txt file. Go back to the homebrew channel, and launch gecko os. Load whatever channel you have the codes for, and they should apply. I think thats it. Respond if this was helpful. :D
just to be sure
