Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find the exact answer.
I'm on 3.2e at the moment and I'm using the Wiirip v1.0 from http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,150.0.html (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,150.0.html) but games seem to force you to update. I don't really care about any other homebrew, I only want to be able to backup my Wii games and the Gecko OS doesn't seem to work but Wiirip does for me. Does the Wiirip v1.0 still work on 4.0e (I've got the HBC + cIOSs required to run Wiirip).

Edit: If the 4.0e system update renders the homebrew required to backup my Wii games obsolete, is there a way to rip games with the USB Gecko without using homebrew (as in not through the HBC)?
