I guess many of you already noticed, but BootMii beta2 was just released.

QuoteTwo weeks after beta 1 we bring you the first bugfix release: beta 2. Next to the usual metric ton of minor fixes and cleanups, here are the changes worth mentioning:
BootMii beta 2 (v0.9):
* SD card performance has been improved, decreasing the boot and the NAND backup / restore time
* backupmii accepts fragmented SD cards now, reformatting is not performed anymore. Old NAND dumps are still compatible.
* Introduced the INI variable “BOOTDELAY” to set the timeout for the auto boot feature
The Homebrew Channel v1.0.3:
* SDHC cards are working again
* SD performance has been increased again (regression was introduced in v1.0.2)
* HBC works on all system menu versions now
* Fixed rare hangs when exiting HBC
DVDX:
* Switched back to IOS < 37. While the SDHC problem for apps using DVDX has been fixed in libogc, there were also problems with USB keyboards under higher IOS versions
Installer v0.2:
* Installer now works on newer Wiis with boot2v4 (instead of rebooting at “Press 1″)
* Fixed reading of boot1/2 on Wiis with bad ECC data in that area
* BootMii as boot2 and IOS can now be uninstalled
QuoteBootMii is a set of software that can be installed on Nintendo Wii consoles to provide added functionality, safety and convenience.

Its really neat. installed!
Did you install it as boot2 etc?
I installed it as boot2 - works fine... I just dislike the new HBC it can't seem to read SDHC cards anymore :( seems likeTwiizers broke some stuff there...
Anyway, YAY for bootmii!
What happens if you have preloader installed?

did you install it as Boot2? and you need to have the SD card you used for installing in your Wii while booting.
yes boot2 and i always have it in my wii
SDHC was implemented first i think, but removed due the high errorrate caused by this... it's very complicated coding a programm which can't almost use libogc ^^

Do you have the BootMii files on your SD card? I don't think it will boot without them.
I have it installed as boot2, and it works great for me! Used it to make a backup of my NAND. Can't wait to see what emerges from this!
simple question. can it install on unmodded 4.0 software (friend wants homebrew)
Yes, it can be installed if your Wii is on the 4.0 firmware. However, your friend might not be able to install it as boot2. If they can't, it will need to be installed as an IOS.
Pretty nice, I can use this to back up my NAND before I am going to do anything that could possible give me a brick or be harmful. Then if anything harmful happens I just restore my NAND. :D
what does the 3 option do in the bootmii menu? the one that has pic of an sd card, when i click on a boot.dol it freezes for about 2 seconds then goes back to the bootmii menu :/ anyone know how you use this?
It can be used to run homebrew applications which don't require any Nintendo code. As far as I know, no such program has been created yet, other than 'ppcboot.elf', which you need to run BootMii.
mini just came out as promised by team twiizerz it also states you can install it with usbgecko if how would you do this? im new to usb gecko but understand everything almost on the wiird gui, so how would you install this using a usb geko? i thin a little tutorial here would help not just m but lots of people =)
kk, and how do you make it auto run a homebrew application when you turn your wii on with your sd card inside?
Not sure if I'm going to install it yet or wait a little while for more versions. All I use is Gecko anyway. Just a few questions because this kinda stuff gives me a headache >.<
- Is it a good idea to install this instead of the Twilight Hack? No matter which version you have? (Assuming you don't have HBC yet)
- How high is the brick risk?
- Does it allow you to install/use apps that have been blocked as of Wii Menu 4.0?
Can somebody help me with this plz. My friend has a non modded Wii. Today we tried to install the Homebrew Channel on his 3.4U Wii using BootMii. The problem is whenever we click on homebrew Channel all we get is a black screen and nothing shows up every other channel works fine. Is there any way to fix this and he also updated his Wii to 4.0 so is there any way to reinstall it? Please Help.

1) The Twilight Hack is not being installed.. it is an exploit.. BootMii is no exploit thus you're mixing up BootMii with bannerbomb - bannerbomb works a little less well on loading DOL/ELF files but it works!
2) No known bricks to me
3) Again: BootMii is no HBC.. so you're talking about two different things here.

For reinstalling go see Link's guide, there also is a video version in the videos section. :)
thats my video :D couldnt of downgraded if it wernt for link :D
OK thank you we successfully downgraded his Wii and now he's back up to 4.0 using homebrew.
in terms of brick safety. this can recover you when you:
delete your system menu
delete your system menu ios (its ios30 for 3.2)
banner brick your wii (obviously)
i havent tested anything else, but for all 3 bricks you can still launch the homebrew channel.
BootMii, the HomeBrew Channel, the HackMii installer and DVDx just got an update.
