Idk if I'm posting in the wrong thread or not even allowed to but, I have a problem. I had downloaded this Wad a million times and it keeps saying EU. I have a US wii and I don't understand why whenever I downloaded the NTSC one it does the EU one.Is it because I downloaded the injected NTSC before?
Its easy to solve this:
go to the shop channel and buy the game!
I am completely confused.
Is this game's US id NARE or NACE!?
in the official codes thread where it says NARE the ones hetoan made work for me. Haven't tried ones from NACE yet though.
but in the code db, the us majora's mask codelist has NACE as the id. Which is it!? gaaaaaaaaaaaah
EDIT: nvm, just loaded it up and Wiird showed that NARE's the correct title id
NACE - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
NARE - Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask :P

can someone tell me what type of hook i use for n64 game because the code won't work
For some reason the codes aren't working for me, none of them. I'm sure I have the right version (NARE) and it loads the codes in GeckoOS but they don't take effect.
are u sure your not a pirate?
Try the Jesus Mode code (walk on water), that should work on all versions of the game. If it doesn't then you've got a different problem.
I tried the Jesus mode and it didn't work, I'm confused to as why I am having this problem. Anny clues to what it might be?
My first thought was that you needed the debugger to be on in Gecko OS but the Jesus Mode hack would still work.. (it should even work on pirated injects of it-not that I support that, just saying)
Uhh.. Do codes work on other VC games for ya? Are you using the latest Gecko OS (1.9.1)?
Yeah other games codes work fine too. Theres a chance it may be pirated, as my cousin got the games for me an I'm not sure if he downloaded injects or downloaded it from the shop (My wii internet fails completely). But still if that was the case I should be able to walk on water. I'm curious as to whats wrong...
It's frustrating because the Chaos Control code for it seems like a ton of fun and I want to be able to use it.
If you just got Gecko OS 1.9.1, make sure under "Config Options" that "SD Cheats" is set to "YES".
Well, nvm, if other games work then that's not the problem. I dunno man.
(well, I'm using the Default Hook Type.. maybe you changed it and it's not working?)

No?
The "run asm code" area creates the pointer to the asm I hijack with the insert asm part. I posted in the hacker's area a "pointer creator", that's what the "run asm code" is.
30000000 7274FF79 //Checks if value @ Po is Equal to 7274FF79 (on water?)
that checks if the pointer is correct by comparing it to what should be at that pointer.
The insert asm part is the actual walk on water programing.
Here's the details on that part:

FINALLY! Finally there is someone who confirms that even the NTSC codes doesn't work on GeckoOS. I have the PAL version of Majora's Mask and its PAL codes doesn't work either. Me and 3 other guys already mentioned this before on this forum, but we only got to hear something like "Are you using a pirated copy?", "You're doing something wrong" or "Make sure you're using the newest GeckoOS and Code Manager version".
I'm so lucky that the hackers pay attention to this problem now. :)
Just like Solus I can confirm that all the codes for the other VC and WiiWare games I own are working. Majora's Mask is the only game yet where none of the codes are working using (of course the newest version of) GeckoOS.
They only seem to work using the debugger. Which is sad, because at the moment only hackers (or better said: USB Gecko owners) can enjoy those awesome codes that were made for such an awesome game. ;_;
I hope someone finds and takes the time to find a solution for this problem, so all the other code junkies who doesn't own an USB Gecko can enjoy the codes too. :)
It doesn't make sense with the Jesus Mode code though; that should be working no matter what.. I'll do further testing to try and find a solution.
The PAL codes worked on my cousins Wii ( He got himself a pirated version but it turned out to be the PAL version and I did find out he got me a WAD'ed version :x ) On the channel view it says that Its rated E for cartoon violence. Is that normal?
Also I intend to stick with this version though because getting the original is hard due to the lack of Wii internet & current financial troubles. But I hope there is a solution because the one I have should be working with the Jesus code at least.
Thanks for the help guys
Well, I bought my copy from the Wii Shop Channel. Maybe the original version has some sort of code protection? I don't know. -.-
hey James, What should you do if the ASM code moves?
I made one for a bomb timer stopper, but it should have worked on all bombs, and it did, but once I left the area the ASM moved >_<
do you think it would be easier to do pointers on the ASM or on the actual timer?
I got to make this a fact, i do NOT care if it's pirated or legitmate.
Load up GEcko Os, and load up the channel, What is the Game ID that comes up?
I can help you then.
hetoan2: I usually can't find a pointer to moving ASM. I created a thread in the Hackers area with a fair bit of ASM that will create a pointer to your ASM.
In the Gecko OS view it states: Zelda: Majora's (US)
Upon booting the game ID is: NARE
Other Random Facts:
* On the channel menu it states Rated Everyone for Cartoon Violence
* For Gecko OS It says that the codes are found and that it is applying them
* Gecko OS is as default, I didn't edit any settings
* My Wii Version is 4.0 (Though I have gone through every process to allow the rebooter and Gecko OS to work (Getting the IOS, downgrading etc)
* All other VC and Wii games work (I've tested MKW, SSBB, Ocarina of Time)
My text file looks like this:
****The file is fine. Codes removed.****
All codes belong to their respective hackers! (Sorry about the credits, didn't have any because I wanted to rush and enter the codes. I also did them through code manager instead of the text files so skipped over them.
By default, Gecko OS has the setting "Use SD Cheats" set to "No"
You must, obviously, change that to "Yes"

Well by reading the rest of my post you'd also notice that it applied the codes meaning it was set to yes, whether I changed it without remembering or not. It searches for codes, it applies them and they work for every other game
well i have the same problem so is there a way to make the code to work because just like him, none of them are working
So far there are 6 users I found on the board confirming that codes for "Majora's Mask" doesn't work:
PAL users: MRDSBOY, TT1337, DUSK_TILL_DAWN and myself
NTSC-US users: crazy brawler and SoLuS xX
The possibility that we all make the same mistakes is quite low, isn't it.
And the only users who confirm the codes do work have the "hacker" status, thus it appears that they use USB GECKO.
I wonder if some sort of a "Must Be On" code is needed to get these codes working for GeckoOS-only users or if only an update of GeckoOS could solve this problem. At least I hope there's a solution at all. ;_;

It doesn't make sense with the Jesus Mode code though; that should be working no matter what.. I'll do further testing to try and find a solution.
I've tried many, many Majora's Mask codes, none of them were working.
- Wii Firmware 3.2E
- All VC-Games are hacked, but they are not injected. (The games are all PAL!)
- Cheats are working with Wii-Games, but not with any of my VC-Games.
- The Jesus-Mode (walking on water) works perfectly.
- Tried every code on every game on this board, but none of them were working except the Jesus-Mode
- Have Gecko OS 1.9.1
- SD-Card-Cheats are "ON" all the time
- Gecko OS says always "SD-Codes found. Applying", but nothing is happening in the game.
- My codes are saved under "SD-Card:\codes\NARP.gtc" for example
I don't get it what's wrong =/
Ideas?
In your gecko os options, try turning the debugger on (even though you don't have a usb gecko). See if that changes anything..
Same result: "SD-Codes found. Applying"
Still no result during the game.
Also I've tried Zelda MM, Zelda OoT, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64. All of them are PAL and NOT injected. Used all PAL codes I've found on this board, but they aren't working... =(
What can I do?

Same result as TT1337, it doesn't change anything. What if for some reason nintendo sent out different versions of the game? Such as how TP has v1 and v2?
I suspect one of 2 things is happening. This code for NTSC-US (NARE) should help determine what it is:
Time Freeze [hetoan2]
04B2F6B0 60000000
Let me know if that code works.
~ When I try it as NARE.gtc
-> No SD-Codes found. Nothing happens
~ When I try it as NARP.gtc
-> SD-Codes found. Appyling. Still nothing happend.
:'(
There is no pal version of that code. I thought I made it obvious that someone with the NTSC-US version should test it.
NTSC always has about 500 codes for a game and PAL has maybe 8 codes for the same game ._.

Doesn't seem to work unfortunatly.
It should work...
games are now being sent out with error 002 protection and I heard that there is a newer version (002b) that might be causing issues. It could have moved values around if they did release a different version, but my ASM code should stay the same. If you can find someone with this error and a USBgecko it could probably help you figure it out.
I cant test James' codes right now because I'm on vacation in a hotel.

If I can obtain the wad file my cousin used would there be any way to get a code dump that you would be able to use? I don't own a USB gecko unfortunately.
I've tested it 5 times over just to be sure, doesn't seem to work for me.
If Jesus mode works and that code doesn't, then it is the case that game's memory is different in some way. (which is somewhat more easy to solve than if the codes were getting overwritten)
It may be a version issue (as hetoan2 suggests) or it may be an issue with the USB Gecko/Gecko OS/WiiRD. I'll do a couple tests now to find out.
[edit]
Okay, it is the case that all you people with problems have a different version of the game. So once again, there will need to be two sets of codes for the same game id. How annoying.
If I could get that stupid TP v2 M code to work with the current Gecko OS then I could change it just a bit to work on Majora's Mask too.
Either way, we need someone with that version of the game and a USB Gecko to get a RAM dump for code porting.

I don't know if you know or remember but just adding in that Jesus mode isn't working for me. Just adding that in for safety precautions.
If I'm using the Jesus-Mode, it's working perfectly. But all other Codes doesn't work at all... =/
SoLus xX, you should check again; if you used that code and it didn't work then your game would be lagging. You are more than likely mistaken.
TT1337: Yes, that's because your version is not the same as mine and hetoan2's.
Jesus Mode is written to be region free so it will work on any version of the game.
*sigh* unfortunately the Jesus mode isn't working for me at all. I've tested it and checked the options on Gecko OS and it's still not working :/
You know that it's a walk on water code, right? ...your game doesn't lag at all? (it seriously should at least a little if it's not working..)

I jumped into the water at the start point of the 1st day and in the water by the laundry pool (where Keith is) and he didn't walk at all. Sunk straight in. It was as if playing the game normally.

I GOT THE FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It wasn't the game but the code manager apparently. Anyone who has updated their code manager make sure they get rid of the extra system files for it. I removed them, deleted everything in the code manager including the code manager itself and re-downloaded it. Something was wrong with the files I assume and after getting mad and destroying everything and then deciding I want it back it was fixed.
Try it peoples and let me know if you achieve anything with it.
Jesus mode and even chaos control is working, everything is now.
If you're codes aren't working delete everything of the manager except text files with the codes. Double check your codes and then redownload the manager and it's add-ons.
Edit again for a question since James0x57 and Hetoan2 are checking in, what is the button activator code for this game? And is there anyway to disable a button from doing one thing and enable it to do another? (Like stopping ZL from working as a C button but at the same time allowing it to moon jump)
Well there were a few people within the topic who had the same problem as me where codes wouldn't work. I found something that made it work for me however and I'm not sure if anyone has actually read what was an unexpected error that caused it, so I decided to broadcast it. Here are a few possible fixes.
{What my problem was and how it was fixed}
*Make sure you don't have any left over files from the original code manager. [I downloaded the new one into the folder with the old one and between the two preferences files it wouldn't work. Delete everything of the 1.0 version and then add and keep only the files of the newer]
*Make sure you are using your own regions codes. [If you have Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask PAL (NARP), make sure you use codes from that topic only]
*Make sure you have the right Game ID when creating the .gct file.
*Make sure you have the correct codes and have them activated.
*Some codes can crash the game or cause problems so if it doesn't work try disabling certain ones.
Don't know what you mean^^
Anyway, is there someone going to make codes like "Jesus Mode", but as an Infinite Rupees Code or something like that? I would be very pleased. I got one game working and that was Super Mario World PAL, lol.
do you know the moon jump code for the wii cause i have been looking everywhere for it and i cant find it anywhere it would be so much apprieciated :)
For USA:
Moon Jump Hold Y
28F1B5B0 00000800
05322118 44300000
E0000000 80008100
I put up the button activator GC for it awhile ago...
Thanks worked for me.
Ok my problem is the reverse of what everyone else had... I cant seem to get Jesus mode to work, but all of the other codes work... any ideas? My wii is 3.2U NTSC the game is NARE Im using a gamecube controller and the code looks like this

Add this line "04003A2C 45027000" under an activator to disable it.

Also when i have it on the game seems to hang on the spinning N logo for a long time before going on to the game...
hi, in my game, i only have working jesus code and the chaos control code, my wii its 4.1u and my game is original one because i buy in the shop channel
i want to test the other cheats, but its not working, i dont have a sd gecko, and the codes its the correct one (nare) and the gekos os recognice the sd card and the cheats but only work the jesus and chaos control
Still problems with this game?
For me the codes didn't work at first but then i got a "fix".
Apparently majora's mask codes only works if your wii system language is set to english.
I'm italian so my wii is set to italian language and with that these codes didn't work:

was wondering if i can add some kind of button activator to this code?
somthing like 'd-pad right to turn on off'.
this is make link be always as one of his forms even in cutscens i wanted to mess with it some more
but trying to make link put on a different mask or take it off makes him stay the same.
the best exapmle i can give is, the area before fighting majora with the children, this code wont allow me to go further cuz the game makes u have to be in normal form and im just stuck there as whatever form.
tnx for any help.
EDIT: unrelated question, would it be possible for anyone to make a code that allows Fierce deity to put away his sword like normal link?
like trying to use the 'any item anywhere' code, but deity cant use other items becuz he always pulls his sword back out.
At library,almost out of time.

This is a good Idea, but I think It would be awesome to have a few fixes to be able to play as Fierce Deity Link through the game as though he was child link, such as all the people talking to him as though he was child link and being able to use items as normal (putting away the sword) and stuff like that... Im not sure if it is at all possible but it would be nifty none the less.
Is there a way to port this code?
