Title: (Just got a USB Gecko) How do you get it working???
Post by: crwys on May 06, 2009, 02:11:51 AM
Edit ok i got it working on an older version of Gecko OS.  Is thats how it is suppose to be or is there any way to get it working with the newest version of gecko os?  How do you hack the channels?  Thanks again.

I'm on windows XP 32-bit
3.2U wii

Whenever i launch the WiiRD GUI and then launch Gecko OS 1.9.0.1 it will automatically launch my disc game...  Then it will be stuck on this:
> gamestatus
Error sending command
Resetting USB Gecko device driver!
Connection resetted!

Then when I unplug my USB from my laptop, then plug it back in i get this:
> version
Gecko Server version: 0x00
>

Then a pop up window, saying:
Either Gecko/RF is not started, or it is not supporter by WiiRD/WiiRD GUI. Retry ?

Then when I click Yes to retry it says this:
> hook
Resetting USB Gecko device driver!
Starting game - No patches applied! Game is started using VI hook!

I tried looking around on the stickies posts and nothing helped me.  Thanks for the help.

make sure you have the "load debugger" option on
the newest GeckoOS has it off by default

Ahhh ok many thanks to both of you.  I did have it in slot B, but did not turn on the debugger.  Thanks again.

I installed the drivers with the slot A (Because that's what it says in the instructions) and when i plug it to the Slot B it works perfectly, so there isn't problem if i installed it in the slot A?

Basically you can install it without plugging it in into a Wii/Gamecube..

Windows only detects the FTDI chip and not the actual Wii. And that chip is always there!

After reading your other thread I suspect you are searching for decimal values instead of hex

If you have a value of 100 on screen you have to search for 64 which is the hex value for 100 decimal

There is a button in wiird which converts it

not working... I have to search unknown value. That works for me so it's okay. I tried hex search and decimal.... The only thing that i haven't try was float search which I don't think nes games have that type of codes.
