Title: Mario Kart Wii [RMCP01]
Post by: schmake on July 26, 2008, 02:40:21 AM
I would like to thank dexter0 USA codes for this great game.  I used that as the starting point to find this code.

I've connected to WFC and it didn't work, so no cheating online :)

NEW
Had a play around again with Mario Kart Wii, made this code as I was sick of having the same item all the time, this way its sort of like having your own instant box whenever you want.  It doesn't allow for the tiple items (bananas, red and green shells)
It's set up to use A+Y at the same time on the GCN controller.

I've also got a Time Trial item always have, but not sure about people using it to set fast times and then post to WFC

The only true way to test for online incompatibility with this code is to get in a 12 man race as the 1st player (meaning you have to start in 1st place).  If the code still does not work then it is online safe.  Then again it does not really matter since your chances of being 1st in a 12 man race are 1/144.

@James
I have not check out this code in depth but since it is based on my code I can explain a little.  The idea behind the pointer schmake is using is that it points to the last secondary kart object in the game's stack (which can hold 12 at most).  Since all single player GP and VS races always have 12 racers, all you need to do is subtract 0x248*0xB from the pointer to be right back at player 1's object address. (You are always P1 in all single player races).

This method works great for single player but not so great online since you usually don't have 12 players.  Furthermore, even if you did you would still need to be p1 for the code to work.  This of course assumes that the pointer you are using still works on WiFi.  When I hacked my item code I found 2 pointers that I could use.  Both of them pointed to the end of the secondary kart object stack offline but only one worked online.  I'm sure you can guess which one I choose.  But as I pointed out above, it does not matter since your chances of meeting the requirements needed to use the code online are 1/144.

@Schmake
To add a button activator you need to find the address the game uses to store what button is pressed.  Use the button value list posted somewhere around here and search for those values as you hold down the button who's value you are searching for.

I see. The online codes will spread wide and far in a matter of days, so the bizzare forum rules here (hacking, piracy is ok....but online codes, are you mad!?!?!??!) will have no effect. But I definitely want to thank everyone involved in this project, I'm always amazed at the homebrew/hacking talent working on the Wii scene. You have all made my Wii experience so much better!! It makes me wish I did computer programming at uni instead of what I chose!!

Well you are correct about spreading on WFC, I just finished a race using my no time code for time trial on GBA Shy Guy Beach...  there are already 3 records up on the Worldwide Top Ten that are less a second.  However if it is limited to people with a Gecko USB who find the codes themselves at least the number will remain relatively lower.

I used the Star item code for Time Trial as Michael J, Just testing to see if it worked, and it did. :/

But, I have a serious question for Dexter0, I am not 100% sure if you have heard of IHack@You before the current tournament, and He is actually a Hacker on Wi-Fi.
I have never raced him but know numerous amounts of people who have. He uses a star Hack, alongside his guest Hoffsman. I am wondering, what he has done differently compared to your 1/144 method.

I ran into him once. He fired off a blue shell at the beginning of the race. I didn't see if he did anything else, I was stuck at the back of the pack the whole race.

I've raced him myself also, he was Funky Kong with always have star on. It was gay and it seems as though it always works for him. dexter0, how is this possible?

He might have made it himself. I have not been able to get dexter0's codes to work in time trial yet. I am thinking of picking up a gecko just so I can create some codes. I have done it on the xbox using the various tools, xdk, debugger, and looking at wiird, looks pretty much the same and simple values should be easy enough to find. Just want to read up more on it before making the investment.

But personally I'd like to see working time trial codes just to be able to beat all the ghost times and get the unlocks. Sure I can use a save that has it, or use the 0 lap cheat do it, but not looking for anything too extreme, just some extra mushrooms, etc. to give me a little more advantage in beating the ghost - but still understand the reasons why time trial codes might not have been posted yet.

so like 0s to 10 mins respawn times unless you want to modify the proper value in memory elsewhere

Title: item swap/change/exchange
Post by: sm98 on August 15, 2008, 12:50:47 PM
with this you can swap/remove items before they're given to any player/npc
lines 4-6 are the items in the game 0x00,0x01,0x02...0x14 in that order.

change the item number below and it'll use what you chose instead.

e.g. blue shell -> pow 07->0D
line 4: 00010203 0405060D

[Swap Item XX for YY]
42000000 80000000
06005800 00000020
5B736D39 385D0000
00010203 04050607
08090A0B 0C0D0E0F
10111213 14000000
C2797FF0 00000006
839D0074 2C1C0000
41800020 2C1C0014
41810018 3C608000
38635808 7C63E214
88630000 7C7C1B78
60000000 00000000

this one is hit n miss, depends on what is faster, the search and replace type code or the npc using an item before it swaps (code above wins each time but won't replace what items aready are allocated)
XX is a single item you want to change with ZZ and Y is how many (usually 1-3)

Oh,
I have done it once on gamecube...

But I totaly forget how...
Some explain will be cool :) Thanks!

You had to have 2 of the same good look like codes in the second line.. (with GCNcrypt ;) ) (the 2 codes will be one NTSC and one PAL for this time... look like each other)
and some calculate stuff in windows calculator in HEX? anyways on wii it is different I'm sure... a bit at least and I forget how to sum up... :P

Don't post the code concerning VR/BR modifier.
This code doesn't have the usage excluding WFC. (WiFi-specific codes)
And, it had become a problem before.

Also, it violates the rule of this forum.

Ask whoever maintains the cheat codes database at USBGecko (Website not forum) if they can put your code up in the database. Cause apparently, I don't think the no wifi codes allowed concern the database, only the forum (Weird I know).

http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/ Btw this is their code database.

Where do these Size Modifier codes work?
Is it in GP or time trials? I can't seem to get them working.

it should work everywhere, I just retested and they did - I have the tendency to mis-copy-past codes but not this time.. I guess I missed to mention, the status modifier code MUST be on:

please try - status modifier and player 1 double size:

What happens if your kart is huge ? your character is huge too ? the kart is heavier ? it's like when you pick up the mega mushroom ?

Right I think I forgot to turn that on, will give it another try.

@Kinggamer:

your kart gets bigger, your collission box gets bigger.. however, you can't drive over other karts - this only works if you take the mega mushroom which will make you even bigger! For weight.. haven't checked

They are in the cheat code section at the top of the page and also in the Mario Kart (jp)
Section. You will need the 'must be on' code from here to use the speed codes.

Quote from: Oogami;12018The new speed codes and no slow down for the (jp) version also work on (pal)

Do you mean this codes ?

Ultimate speed kart/bike
Player 1:
14003180 00000000
48000000 809C1C48
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000724
DE000000 80008180
14000018 4396FFFF
14000020 437AFFFF
1400002C 43700000
E0000000 80008000
This code always becomes maximum speed.
You will come not to be able to control because the kart/bike is extraordinary and fast.
And it cannot stop.

Max speed modifier
Player 1:
12003180 00010000
48000000 809C1C48
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000724

14000000 XXXXXXXX
12000018 00014396
E0000000 80008000

XXXXXXXX = Speed value

Example:
50 km/h = 42480000
100 km/h = 42C80000
200 km/h = 43480000
btw bullet bill is 145 km/h

I don't know if you are refering to the versus mode or to the Wi-Fi mode, if it's the last read the rules, we don't support Wi-Fi related codes. Can anyone answer my question posted above ?

I think you guys were right about it not being fair that you didn't have the wifi item code, so I ported it using a RAM dump. It's up at my site now. :)

Naturally, I can't test it though. So if anyone tries it, let me know if it works.

Are you PAL ?
ex: PAL:
48000000 809BD748
DE000000 90009380
5A010000 000XXXXX <- XXXXX = Liscence Value (look in Values_RMCP01.txt)
3A00000Y 0000ZZZZ <- ZZZZ = Vr/Br Value
1200000Y 0000ZZZZ <- ZZZZ = Vr/Br Value
E0000000 80008000
Y = 0 (VR) or 8 (BR)

ex: (PAL):
48000000 809BD748
DE000000 90009380
5A010000 00009050 <- first liscence
3A000000 00000001 <- 1VR
12000000 00000001 <- 1VR
E0000000 80008000

Title: Re: Mario Kart Wii (RMCP01) PAL

ZZZZ = Hexadecimal Point Value
http://www.statman.info/conversions/hexadecimal.html (http://www.statman.info/conversions/hexadecimal.html) Go here, enter number you want and click: "To Hexadecimal"
XXXX = Hexadecimal
Title: Re: Mario Kart Wii (RMCP01) PAL

So XXXX : 09050

ZZZZ = 270f
ZZZZ = 270f

It's ok ?

Yes = 09050 = first liscence

02 = Bannana
01 = Red shell
00 = Green Shell

Replace XXXX:
57E2 = First Wii Wheel/Nunchuck
5D1A = Second Wii Wheel/Nunchuck (UNTESTED)
???? = Third Wii Wheel/Nunchuck
???? = Fourth Wii Wheel/Nunchuck
1522= First Classic Controller (UNTESTED)
???? = Second Classic Controller
???? = Third Classic Controller
???? = Fourth Classic Controller
8200= GCN Controller - Port 1
820C = GCN Controller - Port 2 (TESTED, works)
8218 = GCN Controller - Port 3 (UNTESTED)
8224 = GCN Controller - Port 4 (UNTESTED)

Replace YYYY to 0000

Replace ZZZZ:
Classique controller:
0001 = Up
0002 = Left
0004 = Z (Right)
0008 = X
0010 = A
0020 = Y
0040 = B
0080 = Z (Left)
0200 = R
0400 = +
1000 = -
2000 = L
4000 = Down
8000 = Right
Wiimote/nunchuck:
0001 = Left
0002 = Right
0004 = Down
0008 = Up
0010 = +
0100 = 2
0200 = 1
0400 = B
0800 = A
1000 = -
2000 = Z
4000 = C
8000 = Home
GCN controllers:
0001 = Left
0002 = Right
0004 = Down
0008 = Up
0010 = Z
0020 = R
0040 = L
0080 = No button (always pressed)
0100 = A
0200 = B
0400 = X
0800 = Y
1000 = Start

You must add to the GCN controllers combination the 0080 (No button) to do the code working.
Example: Hold A+Y in GCN controller port 1 to get something
A = 0100
Y = 0800
A+Y = 0900
Now add 0080:
0900 + 0080 = 0980

Final version:
(This is the button activator line)
28348200 00000980 (Hold A+Y in first GCN controller)

If you use these codes an put all the cpu's for example with bullet Bill the race will be very hard to win, even impossible could be. I prefer to have only myself a special item rater than the cpu's, that enought annoying they are that they have to have always an item to throw at you.

kinggamer, you are wrong. These code makes CPU get only one item when it passes though a item box. But when CPU use the item that it had got, it will have no item until it passes though other item box. So, CPs rivals won't use Bullet Bill (for example) always, but only when it passes though a item box. So kinggamer and the other people, don't worry about that problem. Enjoy  :)

It works on GP and you need to modify 2 lines to make it working for GCN controller.

Well, my request is infinite bullet bill time (like the megamushroom and star lasts forever codes, but with bullet bill). But without the use of the GCN controller because i don't have one. So only using the always have item code to have the bullet bill.
And it is possible to play as a ghost character so that you cannot touch the obstacles and the other karts ? (Useful for avoiding bullet bill, star, mega mushroom, etc.).

Yup. Press 'A + B + Home' on Wiimote at the same time to disable permanent items hack. Press a item button (ex. D-Pad UP on Wiimote) to enable permanent hack again.

(don't know if they already exist but how about some codes to change records?)
like the Distance travelled, total race count, wii wheel usage rate, tricks performed, Nintendo WFC Friends Record, VS Race Record, Times 1st Place Achieved, % Race Time in 1st Place, enz enz..

would be nice imo

greets

I suppose there's no way to only unlock certain characters? Like I've been trying to Rosalina for ages now, and yeah. It's just annoying having to do everything to get her.

Cant you download a mario galaxy save and put it into your SD card and over to your wii? That way you'll unlock her easier.

Yeah, I already have a Super Mario Galaxy save file. It's just that whatever I do, I can't unlock her.

I'm sure it's possible to make a code for only unlocking certain characters...

Yes I think! Its amazing - don't try it online. It does work online (which many people may not be happy about / why it hasn't already been posted) but it lags out until everyone except you has disconnected, and then after 5 minutes you get disconnected from the match, because the Wii can't decide who came first. There is a code out there though which has checkpoints, so it can decide who came first. Well, hope you enjoy!

When a thwomp lands right on top of you, your character is flat for a certain amount of time.  If you use this code, your character won't be flat after being squashed.

Instant Squash Recovery -PAL- [Nutmeg]

When you use the following code, if your character is flattened, he/she will be flat for the rest of the race.

nice code deathwolf.
BUT you need to include the item amount or your code will fail.
-> http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RMCE01

Btw. I also made that kind of code regionfree ;D

Title: Re: Mario Kart Wii (RMCP01) PAL

Yep I'll include it.

BTW I see you made a wifi 2 player item modifier. How you got this working? I failed on such wifi hacks like this so hard. Because the player location isn't everytime the same -.- Even ASM doesn't work for me ._. It shows a totaly wrong location.
