With 4.0 I think there will be a significant amount of people using SDHC. Has someone fixed this yet? If not, I'll do it but I don't know how. I have devkit and I have some basic skill but that's about it.
Yes i would like to know if this will be fixed i wondered why my 16 gig card would not work with gecko os on the homebrew channel. Is the gecko os for the homebrew channel not compatible with sdch cards. My 1 gig card works fine with it but my 16 gig card doesn't work with it.
Applications all have to be made SDHC aware manually.. the HBC was SDHC aware long before the actual System Menu was, in Gecko OS support was not yet included. The new one will!
Just to prove my point that all apps have to get aware of SDHC manually: try a SDHC card in Brawl and it won't work!
link: it wont work with brawl even if youve updated to 4.0 the normal way?
nope, but if you patch your ISOs to load from the one that controls SDHC (IOS60) then maybe you'll be able to load with SDHC support.
its an IOS thing, if the IOS the game/app is using has support for sdhc then it will work
So if all you have to do is recompile it, why hasn't it happened yet? I'd do it but I can't even get devkitpro to work.

Because updating a program for one small minor thing when a big update is in the works is pointless.
Link hetoan2 told me to ask you if you would compile a version of Waninkoko's USB Loader with Ocarina built in, I asked on GBAtemp and got flamed by a bunch of Ocarina haters
Also does anyone know if getting brawl to recognize the SDHC format could be done by a file replacement code similar to the one that lets people use custom textures without a USB gecko, like replace the file that allows Brawl to recognize SD cards?
looooool, oh god hetoan youre hilarious

Um.. wow.. introducing SDHC to Brawl.. I doubt this will come.. according to marcan the SD connectivity is 99% handled by the PowerPC core in the Wii.. the IOS is mainly ARM so hacking Brawl to use IOS60 will most likely result in nothing. It is possible of course (everything is) I just do not know how!
@wiiztec: never go to gbatemp, its full of noobs, bullies, retards and nerds. their idea of a good joke is bricking each others wiis and strangely whenever i download something from their (i always make sutre its nothing that can rick your wii) it always happens to be faulty.

I was under the impression that a file in Brawl's ISO had information on the SD format but not the SDHC format, if it's just about what IOS the game runs on then couldn't someone rip the SDHC handling code out of IOS60 and add it to a new version of cIOS249? then all that would need to happen is for someone to make a build of the USB Loader with Gecko OS functionality built in

Getting back on topic WiiPower has compiled a version of Gecko OS with SDHC support http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OFVAXUVW (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OFVAXUVW)
