I'm getting some weirdness with the GeckoOS that instead of showing Japanese on the moving text of the game that it mainly uses, it kinda spews out this... 932#sd23 gibberish instead. Any help?

hey i have seen this problem too,i know what u mean, seems like Gecko RegionFree cant detect japanese language characters,i saw this on YouTube-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4GeUsA-mjY,i really dont know if this can b fixed cause i havent install the Gecko OS yet,i hope they will make a fix soon cause i have ordered this game from PLAY ASIA and i wanted to play so bad without issues.
The error is not caused by Gecko.. I had it with other games too and I use modchips.. the problem is simply: some games use Wii internal fonts.. so they try to access a font which is globally availible on Wii.. or well: which should be.. in the video the font it tries to use seems to be the same which is used to show the memory card/save game names.. in the NA and EU versions the fonts are not compatible with double byte letters (Japanese letters).. while some games behave mildly odd (Klonoa shows @ signs) others show the letters like single byte letters..
It has nothing to do with Gecko OS or related!
The fonts seem to be there btw.. just you need a software to forward to the correct (the FreeLoader does it to my knowledge)
What you can try: in Gecko set the console language to Japanese!

sorry if i said that the Gecko was the cause of the error
thank u so much for the help,so the internal fonts r the cause of this issue i see it clearly now,do u think if i change in the Gecko language to Japanese will solve the problem?,i havent install the Gecko yet,ive been doing some research about this region topic,i wanted to make sure before i install the application cause i dont want to brick my Wii.

Don't worry, you do not need to install Gecko.. simply put it onto your homebrew channel (which will surely not brick your Wii) and then select Gecko 1.9 - in its launch options you have a language option.. forcing the language there to Japanese (this won't change your Wii -this is just temporarily) sometimes works (for Klonoa it does).
