Title: Loading GC Gecko OS
Post by: REDSOXROX on February 03, 2009, 12:38:46 AM
Well, my SD Gecko is here, and right now I feel like testing Gamecube cheats with it.

I've seen several methods but how do I load GeckoOS with the SD Gecko to use GC cheats?

Also, use GC or Wii GeckoOS?

I've done research, just want to know suggested method

Edit: I have a Gamecube and Wii

Edit2: Also without an old Action Replay GC

You could use SD Media Launcher.  It has the advantage of working with GameCubes as well as Wiis of any firmware version (according to Datel tech support).  It costs $20.

there's a way to get all the stuff you need.

just google:

ar114loader

you should be able to find it on GScentral if it helps ;)

Okay, cool, I have ar114loader downloaded any way

I can't seem to patch my MIOS correctly though. What version Wii should I be on?

In the past I downgraded from 3.3 v1 to 3.2

First of all install the unpatched MIOS-v5 (and also the old bc) - then install IOS30 of System Menu 3.2 (you can get it in worst cases with bushing's Semifix Brick disc). Then the MIOS modification should work.

Got the MIOS installed and all, ar1.14 working (busbee's Homebrew AR), but one problem...what am I supposed to do when it says open/ close disc cover?

Eject AR and Insert GC game inside.

The AR is not a disc AR, I use a Homebrew AR since I have the newer version where you can't add cheats...

but then...could I have my new AR disc in while loading homebrew AR 1.14...and then swap? hmmmm

Now I found out that when I have my SD Gecko in slot A and load a new Action Replay, it acts like an SD Media Launcher and shows the files on the SD card. I have the GC Gecko OS dol on the root directory but when I try to load it I get a black screen. Same thing happening loading SD Load via old Action Replay. Infact the only thing I have loaded is SDpatch.dol...

Awesome! I found a new way to boot GC Homebrew on both Wii and Gamecube!
