*sighs*

because APPARENTLY, posting complete .txt files isn't allowed in the codes section, here's the complete v2 .txt file...

Try updating to the latest version of GeckoOS. I know that problem was prominent on the standalone Ocarina app, but I use GeckoOS 1.7 iirc and I have sound just fine.

Actually even with Ocarina there was sound. It just disabled certain music and made some sounds stutter. Anyway yeah Ocarina is discontinued. Use GeckoOS sound / music working fine for me.

Can someone explain the item codes to me?

Open all 24 Item Slots [James0x57]
084929DC 00000000
00170001 00000001
MUST BE ON For next items codes! When you save and restart without the codes on, the empty slots will go away and the items will auto-arrange to the correct order.

Have all items and 5 extra slots (final) [James0x57]
044929C4 40484145
024929C8 0000433E
004929CA 00000042
004929CC 00000046
024929CE 0000476C
044929D0 6C777372
024929D4 00007170
024929D8 00005C84
004929DB 0000004B
Can still use the "Open Slots" for extra items of your choise.

Have Gale Boomerang [James0x57]
004929C4 00000040

Have Lantern [James0x57]
004929C5 00000048

(And so on and so forth)

How many slots are there, total? Including empty ones? If I turn on one of the "Open slot" codes set to, oh, Powerless Dominion Rod, will it just add the Powerless Dominion Rod to my item screen, or will it replace the regular Rod? Also, items that aren't normally usable, like Heart Containers, do they just crash, does it act like you picked one up, or what? If I set a sword to an empty slot, will I be able to use it?
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: 111 on February 10, 2009, 07:35:44 PM
Including empty slots, I believe that there are twenty-nine.  If you were to add a powerless Dominion Rod to an open slot, I imagine that it would add, but I can't say for sure.  I'm not sure how certain items would react, but I'm guessing that some should work.  However, I know that the image of a black rupee does not do anything, even without cheats.

Um.. Hello, I am new here, I just discovered and started using Wii Homebrew last week, and I love it. Anyway, back to business. Does anyone know a good way to have the Ranch Clothes and Wooden Sword available for use in the game even after you beat it (as in I can wear the Ranch Clothes and then change out of them anytime I want and vice versa, and the same goes for the Wooden Sword)? I tried using the Open All 24 Slots code and the Have all items plus 5 extra slots code and tried using said items in the values for the extra slots, but it doesn't work. Help please. thank you in advance.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess RZDE01

Hello,

I am new here.  I have been using the Wii Homebrew channel since a while ago, and I love it!  Anyways, I have a question about one of the codes that seems not to work for me, it's "Infinite small keys", (0049329C 00000003) even when I only selected only this code.

My version of the game is RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN

Is this only for the USA version?  If so, can you create one for my version?  If not, are there any way to fix this?  I always use ocarina for my codes.

Thanks!

He already mentioned: RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN
--> Version 1

You should check if your infinite small keys code is for Version 1 and not Version 2! While that one seems to be v1.. I am not sure.. shark2003 made a code for v2 - and the other one was commentlessly posted again by shark2003 so you would expect it to be v1.. but I unfortunately do not know!

Post by: hawkeye2777 on March 24, 2009, 11:01:12 PM
@Wiifan2:

This is the v1 code:

Have Infinite Small Keys [shark2003]
0049329C 00000003

Perhaps you used this code, which is for v2:

Infinite Small Keys *v2 ONLY* [shark2003]
0047A8A4 00000003

Otherwise, I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It works perfectly fine for me, and I have the same version as you do.

I moved the "Infinite Small Keys at the top of the list then I tested it and it works.  Odd, but I'm glad it works now, thanks anyways.

The Link is Black code doesn't work (exept when climbing).

Are you referring to this code?:
Link Color is Black [hawkeye2777]
48000000 80497FE4
DE000000 80008180
120032B8 0002FF00
120032C0 0002FF00
E0000000 80008000

If so, make sure you have this on:

Must be on for Color Mods [hawkeye2777]
0411759C 60000000
041175AC 60000000
041175BC 60000000
041176B0 60000000
041176C8 60000000
041176E0 60000000

If it still doesn't work, let me know what version you have and I'll take a look. Also mention what other codes you are using.

OK, two things here... One, I'm not sure which, but one of these codes disables the jumping thing Midna lets Link do in Wolf form. You know, jumping from place to place by pressing D-Pad Up, then A with good timing?

Infinite Health
* 00479F33 00000050

Always Have Full Wallet for Zelda v2 USA [James0x57]
* 0420CE44 B0A40004

Super Clawshot(s) for Zelda v2 USA [James0x57]
* 043E4BA4 47870000
* 043E4BA8 45336000
* 043E4BAC 45336000
* 043E4BB0 43FA0000
* 040FD364 3C600004

Instant Form Change (Region Free)
* F6000001 80308040
* 7C083A78 7D060038
* F4000010 F8EEB104
* 48000005 7CA802A6
* 90030008 80630000
* 90650014 48000008
* 00000000 00000000
* F6000001 80008010
* 801F0618 28000029
* F6000001 80108020
* 38A10010 38E10008
* F4000030 06D7CA07
* 7C0802A6 48000005
* 7D6802A6 7C0803A6
* 808BFFC8 2C044800
* 40820014 808BFFD4
* 38840064 7C8903A6
* 4E800420 9421FFE0
* 60000000 00000000
* E0000000 80008000

The only one I can imagine breaking the game like that can be the new one that uses those new code types that allows for Region Free codes. It was never deactivated when I had the same codes on for the GCN version, but who knows how different the second Wii version is from the GCN version... I might be able to skip all the stuff with Moon Jump, but Instant Form Change and the Moon Jump codes use the same button activator, which brings me to...

I want to change the button activator for this code from C+A to C+2, but I can't find the button activator line here... Where is it so I can change it?

EDIT: Nevermind, I tried the first value that looked like C+A and managed to change it to C+2 on the first try. :-D

But, I now found another problem... Not only do one of those codes disables Midna's jumping thing, but it also disables going into Twilight cutscenes (The ones where Midna pulls you in), and I can't successfully Moon Jump over that for a quick fix. The only code I would imagine that would mess those up would be that new one that uses new code types, Instant Form Change (Region Free).

Yoshi52, I had the same problem you had when I tried playing Twilight Princess yesterday with Minda's jumping ability. Now I did some testing with running select codes that I was using, and I have determined that it is this code that is breaking that ability:

Super Clawshot(s) for Zelda v2 USA [James0x57]
043E4BA4 47870000
043E4BA8 45336000
043E4BAC 45336000
043E4BB0 43FA0000
040FD364 3C600004

Also, I don't know if it like this for everyone, but when I use this code the Clawshots do indeed attach to everything, but do not have their infinite length like I thought they would. :(

Hm, that's interesting... The GCN one uses the same values, but works like expected, without the Midna Jumping Breaking. Of course, the addresses change when it's a different version, let alone a different system, so... :-\

Oh well, l'll try it out sometime tonight, too.

I found it odd that the Link Size Modifier (and its family) (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,555.msg22597.html#msg22597) aren't available in US form.  Is there a reason for that?  It was surprising to see a JP code created and be ported to PAL, but not to US.  Would the reason be simply that no US hackers were interested enough to transfer it?

Just figured I'd post here. I want to do a more challenging version of Twilight Princess however, the codes I was looking for are only for the GCN version (as I feared). The Daredevil code isn't exactly what I was looking for. Also, I noticed that the Ranch Clothes code wasn't ported from the GCN version to the Wii one (which strikes me as odd!) It would also be great if you included the shirtless Link just for shits and giggles. ANYWAY, here are the codes that I want ported to the Wii version (they should've been to begin with... but whatever lol).

I also noticed that Jesus mode wasn't ported... unless it just isn't in the database (which is rather silly) I'll paste the code anyway. And I'm pretty sure I didn't see Climb any wall either... but in any case, pasted that too. Other than that, I mainly want the Ranch clothes and the enemy health. Also, does enemy health effect bosses too? If not, bosses should either do more damage or have more health, a code for either or would be great!

Hi, I've used the codes "Super Spinner for v2", and the "infinite breath underwater".. I have also used "walk underwater", and they worked fine before.

Since I have updated to 4.0, the codes aren't working the way I remember them, and the "Must Be On for Zelda TP v2 USA" code is activated, AND at the top of the list.

A few problems with the other codes is that the "infinite breath underwater code" doesn't work anymore, and the "Super Spinner for V2" code glitches in a strange way.. instead of the B button controlling the height anymore, when I tilt the wiimote up, the super spinner shoots up into the sky like I'd never seen before, and crashes the game.

The "Super Clawshot for V2" might have a small problem.. if I remember correctly, the Super Clawshot had the ability to extend maybe 5 times further than normal? But it doesn't do that anymore..

Can anyone help me get the proper V2 codes for the codes I have mentioned, and I would also like to know what other V2 codes are not on the code list on the USB Gecko site?

(PS: the Super Spinner for V2 code was given to me, but I don't know why it is glitching now..)

Another issue.. I have had crashes running Gecko OS for long periods. I haven't used Gecko OS for a few months, and everything was fine.. then during gameplay, the disc reader would slow down, and if I keep playing, it eventually crashes.

I ran the game normally through the disc menu about 7 times over a few days, and the game only crashed the first 2 times, then worked fine. Once I went back to Gecko OS one day, it crashed after maybe 4 hours?

I haven't had it crash using it all day today, but I wonder if these issues might be because I have the Wii Menu 4.0... is there a solution to this?

The Must Be On code for V2 doesn't work in the latest Gecko OS. I'm having difficulties with it.
I'll keep trying soon enough (already have the notes open).

Okay, so I really wanted the All Hearts + Infinate Health, Infinate Breath, and other codes that require the Must be on for v2 to be activated. So I activated the cheats (including the Must be on AND it was at the top of the list), loaded them in Gecko, and none of them worked except for the ones that did not require the Must be on! So then I downloaded Ocarina and loaded them with that, and then they worked, BUT the sound didn't work! Is there any way that I can play with these cheats AND the sound?

Find the TP codes thread, there's direct ports for most of the v1 codes to v2. (meaning you won't need the Must be on code)

I was wondering if anybody was having a problem with the super clawshot code. When I use it sometimes it doesn't go far and also I can not use it to bring things to me (bugs , fighting flying lizards). In the gamecube version the super clawshot could attach to anything and also bring items to link and bring the flying lizards close to him. I was wondering was there any way to fix this or is this the only way ?

I was wondering how do I convert Twilight princess Japanese codes to work with us v1 ?

I found it odd that the Link Size Modifier (and its family) (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,555.msg22597.html#msg22597) aren't available in US form.  Is there a reason for that?  It was surprising to see a JP code created and be ported to PAL, but not to US.  Would the reason be simply that no US hackers were interested enough to transfer it?

(Hello, fairly dusty thread!)

It's probably one of the codes I have made that I never released to the public.
Is there a reason in particular that the code has not been made public?  Sorry if I'm missing something horribly obvious, but I'm just interested I guess.

Hoorah!  Thank you Lunar for the port:

Sword Size Modifier [ukuneko, Ported to NTSC-U by Lunar]
48000000 80497FE4
DE000000 80008180
12000018 00003F40
1200001C 00003F40
12000020 00003F40
E0000000 80008000

However, with this particular code enabled (with any size, 3F40 (0.5) or otherwise) my game softly freezes after the safety strap reminder.  I assumed that the US version of the code would follow the same format as the JP (and PAL) codes--meaning the first lines would be:

JP Link
48000000 80483844
JP Sword
48000000 80483848
JP ?
48000000 8048385C
JP Shield
48000000 80483850
JP Head
48000000 80483854

US Link
48000000 80497FE0
US Sword
48000000 80497FE4
US ?
48000000 80497FE8
US Shield
48000000 80497FEC
US Head
48000000 80497FF0

Can't say if it's good or bad news that none of the other assumed NTSC-US variants of the Size Modifier freeze the game--only the Sword Size does.  Still, none of them have any apparent effect.  Could it be that Lunar's port was actually for a v2 game?  Any light shed would be appreciated, as always.

Is it possible to create a Hard Mode for Twilight Princess?

I know a ton of people would be interested in a more challenging Twilight Princess and I was wondering if such a thing was possible.

Maybe a good start would be a quad damage code? (take quadtruple damage)

There's a "Daredevil" mode code, which basically is you die with one hit. There's also the 3-heart challenge code, if you wanted to do that.

But yes, it is possible to make it harder.

Yah, I've got 4.1 and all the Super Spinner Codes i've tried have glitched out and crashed the game. I've the SS code on geckocodes with the V2 MBO, and both Hawkeye2777's ports of James0x57 codes. The spinner travels a few feet then launches past the clouds in a split second, but the music doesn't lag.

First of all, how far are you trying to bring stuff too you?

The Clawshot will attach to anything solid in the direction you point it in, so you just need to have better aim because it still brings ruppees to you if you aim it right. for the Aeralfos(flying lizards), its auto-aiming, so usually it attaches to anything registered in the game as "clawshot-able" within a certain area, its probably aimed just below the Aeralfos' shield and is missing the center.

Well to get Dark Link scheme for the Hero's Tunic the model textures would have to be rearranged and thats probably as hard a job as writing a code to modify the colour for the original texture. Now imagine how hard writing Dark link colour mods for the other Tunics would be. There isn't even simple color mod codes for the other tunics.

The super claw shot moves so quickly that it sometimes passes through pick-ups and enemies. So, instead of grabbing hold of a rupee, you latch onto the ground/wall behind it, and then, you're pulled towards it.

My solution was to make a jokered version of the code, but I only made it for version 2 of the game. :-\

You gave me a funny idea for a code that makes the game harder.
This one will cause your health to decay over time.
I tried to make it as customizable as possilbe.

94010002 00479F33
E2000002 00000000
4A000000 80000000
Health address credit to James0x57
Values of V: (Game Version)
1: version 1
0: version 2
Values for WWWW: (Inverse of decay speed)
0100: Rapid decay
03C0: Medium decay (approx 60 sec/heart)
1000: Slow decay
Values for MM: (Minimum 1/4 hearts to decay down to)
00: Can kill you
04: Spares your last heart
0C: Spares your last 3 hearts

I am not able to test this code on version 1 of the game, so please let me know if it works.

I forgot to mention that this code continues to cause your health to decay even while the game is paused and during cut scenes.

Hi all, seeing as TP would be much more fun if you took more damage and got fewer rupees, I was really hoping someone could make a code to accomplish this.

For multiplying the damage taken (by 3 or 4 maybe), I know that brkirch already accomplished this in AR for the GCN version (though his code froze the game whenever arrows spawned, hmmm): http://arcentral.net/Codes/NTSC/Legend_of_Zelda_Twilight_Princess.php
We already know the health address, which makes me think it can't be too tough, but then again I don't really know, haha. Is it just a matter of checking whether health's decreased, then multiplying the size of that decrease? Or is there more to it?

And I know hawkeye2777 made a nice 3-heart-challenge code, but there's no point doing sidequests for heart pieces with that on, and I like feeling like I'm being tangibly rewarded for doing sidequests. (I'm picky, yeah ._.)

Could there be a rupee code that works the same? Like, by halving the number of rupees you get? Or making stuff cost more? Because I feel like rupees were kinda useless in this game, and it'd be nice if half the treasure chests in the game contained something you actually cared about, lol.

I'm thinking about buying a gecko just to try and make these, cuz they'd be TEH BEST CODES EVR, but I can't quite afford it yet, so I thought I'd ask some of the kind souls on the wiird forums to help me out. Thanks in advance for any responses.  :smileyface:

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Twilight Princess is too easy so we need a code to make it harder. A damage multiplier code would be awesome. Also, it'd be nice if there was a code to make it so that you don't find hearts in grass so often.

Well, I decided to try my hand at making this myself, though I'm running into problems. My code checks if the old health value, stored in Gecko register N (which I reassign at the end of the code), is greater than the current health value. Then it multiplies the health decrease by X, then subtracts that from the old health. Judging from other codes, the health address seems to be 8049292A (credit for that to James0x57, apparently).

However, I can't figure out how to do subtraction using the Gecko register operations. They can do addition, multiplication, and, xor, bitshifts, etc, but no subtraction. I can't figure out how to get the two's compliment either, which would let me use addition. Help?

Here's what I've got so far
8000000M 00000000 grM=0
A2000000 NM00YYYY if grN has health value (grN!= grM) *do I need this? It's checking if I've assigned grN a health value yet, but if grN starts at 0, I might not
A449292A NF000000 if grN>HEALTH
8211000M 0049292A grM=newhealth (16 bits @ba+49292A)
8411000N 0049292A set health to grN(old health) (write 16bit grN to ba+49292A)
grN -= grM (grN=damage taken) *CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT, WAT I DO*
8610000N 0000000X grN *= 4 (damage multiplied by X)
health -= grN
E2000002 00000000 2 endifs, ba, po=0
8211000N 0049292A grN = health (assigns this health to grN so we know if health decreases)

Also, with comparisons like
A2______ NM00YYYY : 16bits If not equal 16bits compares if ([grN] and not(YYYY))!=([grM] and not(YYYY))
what exactly does the "and not(YYYY)" do?

Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

For subtraction you just add 0x00000000 - your value, so subtracting 0x1 is the same as adding 0xFFFFFFFF.

But the best solution for this is ASM, then you could just modify the command that subtracts health and multiply it before subtracting.

I know I could do that, but my value is a variable, and I can't find the operation to negate it (ie NOT/two's complement).  :(

I was worried I might have to use ASM... don't know squat about it.  :-\

Awww thanks joe

Well here it is, my code with...10 lines of ASM just for subtraction lol. Cant test it right now so I'm not sure if it works, but tell me if you see any problems.  O0

It uses the health address(HA)=8049292A, gecko register E(8000183C), and gecko register 1(80001808)
80000001 00000000 gr1=0
A2000000 E1000000 if grE has health value (grE!= gr1)
A449292A EF000000 if grE>HEALTH (HA+ba/po)
82110001 0049292A gr1=newhealth (16 bits @ba+49292A)
8411000E 0049292A set health to grE(old health) (write 16bit to HA+ba)
C2000000 00000004 grE -= gr1 (grE=damage) Assembly code 1
3C008000 8020183C
3C408000 80621808
7C830850 9080183C
60000000 00000000
8610000E 0000000X grE *= X (multiplied damage)
C2000000 00000004 health -= grE Assembly code 2
3C008000 8020183C
3C408049 8062292A
7C811850 9082292A
60000000 00000000
E2000002 00000000 2 endifs, ba, po=0
8211000E 0049292A grE = health (grE=16 bits at ba+HA)

Here's the Assembly codes
ASM1
lis r0, 0x8000     //load first 2 bytes(4 letters) of grE address
lwz r1, 0x183C(r0) //loads full val of grE into r1
lis r2, 0x8000     //first 2 bytes of gr1
lwz r3, 0x1808(r2) //loads rest of gr1 into r3
sub r4, r1, r3     //subtracts gr1(r3) from grE(r1), stores in r4...I think. Can someone confirm I'm doing this right?
stw r4, 0x183C(r0) //stores subtraction(r4) in grE(r0/r1)

ASM2
lis r0, 0x8000     //load first 2 bytes(4 letters) of grE address
lwz r1, 0x183C(r0) //loads full val of grE into r1
lis r2, 0x8049     //loads first 2 bytes of health address
lwz r3, 0x292A(r2) //loads full value of health in r3
sub r4, r3, r1     //subtracts grE(r1) from health(r3), stores in r4
stw r4, 0x292A(r2) //loads reduced health(r4) into health(r2/r3)

I know I could shrink it down a lot if I put the multiplication inside the ASM, but I didn't know the syntax...

About the Gecko registers: is checking if grE==0 a good way to tell if I haven't used it yet? And can I count on the value I store there not changing?

Also, should I add some code checking if link's health is gonna be reduced to below zero? Will it asplode if his health is negative?

I don't think this is a good solution, because the Gecko registers are not always the same in every version of gecko.
It would be better if you alter the ASM instruction which subtracts the health.
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: mugwhump on November 22, 2009, 12:14:09 AM
Do you mean the addresses of the gecko registers won't be the same? Cuz that would make things tough... How would I pass the values in the gecko registers into ASM if I don't know their specific address? D:
EDIT: But the technical codetype document says
QuoteNote that grN are stored before the gecko/code handler. That mean they should always be accessible at a static address : 0x80001804. [0x80001804]=gr0, [0x80001808]=gr1,...,[0x80001840]=grF. That way you can access them directly, when inserting an asm routine for example.

Or do you mean I can't rely on the value in the gecko registers not changing? So I should find some other outside address to store the health? I don't have a usbgecko though, so I dunno how I'd find one...

I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly the address of the Gecko registers has changed between the older Gecko and newer.
But if you just use the Gecko register operations (http://wiird.l0nk.org/codetypes.html#c4), you could create the same code you just made.
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: mugwhump on November 22, 2009, 12:31:58 AM
How do I use the register operations for subtraction though? I know I could use addition if I made one value a two's complement, but I can't find any operation to let me do that. Is there some way I can combine these bitwise operations to get subtraction?
0 : add (+)
1 : mul (*)
2 : or (|)
3 : and (&)
4 : xor (^)
5 : slw (<<)
6 : srw (>>)
7 : rol (rotate left)
8 : asr (arithmetic shift right)
A : fadds (single float add)
B : fmuls (single float mul)

edit: could I use gr1 xor FFFF to get the same thing as NOTgr1?

:'(
Damn, I tested it out and it says 'Exception (DSI) occurred!' then dumps a bunch of code before I even see the title screen :(
The same thing happened when I tried it with the ASM removed.

It works with other people's codes... just not mine. :(

EDIT:
I think the problem is that I can't compare the values in the gecko registers when I haven't assigned anything to them yet.
I need some way to assign a value to the gecko register only ONCE when the game starts, and not every frame. How I do dat?

Can't help with the little bit of info you gave. Did you follow the instructions given in the code note? What other codes do you have activated? Have you tried using that code by itself?

Yes I did. I did press 1 + D pad. I used it with the following codes:

Link is Invincible [hawkeye2777]
C20BF2DC 00000002
38000002 901A056E
60000000 00000000

Infinite Lantern Oil [James0x57]
02492930 00005640

Infinite Breath Underwater [James0x57]

No I didn't try using it alone. I will try it alone though. One more thing do I have press and hold 1 and d pad or not?

Post Merge: November 23, 2009, 11:16:04 PM

I did try alone but still no luck. If someone could tell me why it's not working that would be great thanks.

Hmm, not sure what the problem is. And yes, you do have to press and hold 1+dpad. The lighting of the map should change instantly, however the day/night versions of towns, etc. won't take effect until you re-enter the area (if I remember correctly).

Always Start of Night ("press start" screen's color) [James0x57]

OK, here's my hackjob attempt at using counters to initialize the gecko register to 0, lol

The first 3 lines are the new stuff. What I'm trying to do is set the counter to FFFF on the first execution so that grE will be set to 0, and then the counter will be reset to 0. Thus grE won't be set to 0 every frame, but only once every 65535 frames lol. So there's a 1 in 65535 chance of this not working. [spoiler]Actually probably a 100% chance since I have no idea what I'm doing with the counters, halp plz D:[/spoiler]

A80FFFF8 0000FFFF if counter =FFFF, starts at FFFF, reset counter to 0 when true
8000000E 00000000 grE=0
E2000001 00000000 1 endif, ba, po=0
A449292A EF000000 if grE>HEALTH (HA+ba/po)
82110001 0049292A gr1=newhealth (16 bits @ba+49292A)
8411000E 0049292A set health to grE(old health) (write 16bit to HA+ba)
C2000000 00000004 grE -= gr1 (grE=damage) Assembly code 1
3C008000 8020183C
3C408000 80621808
7C830850 9080183C
60000000 00000000
8610000E 0000000X grE *= X (multiplied damage)
A649292A EF000000 if grE<HEALTH, so health doesn't become negative *how do I do less than or equal to? This way sucks*
C2000000 00000004 health -= grE Assembly code 2
3C008000 8020183C
3C408049 8062292A
7C811850 9082292A
60000000 00000000
E2000002 00000000 3 endifs, ba, po=0
8211000E 0049292A grE = health (grE=16 bits at ba+HA)

edit: aaaargh that code's retarded, exception error

I wonder if this line's giving me problems?
A449292A EF000000 if grE>HEALTH (HA+ba/po)
According to the codetype doc, this is supposed to compare grE to the value at an address(The F should mean we're using an address), but maybe the codetype doc is wrong. Maybe it's comparing grE to grF, which is unassigned, thus the error

EDIT 2: yeah, I think it's that line, though it's got nothing to do with grF being unassigned. None of my codes using the A4 codetype work... dunno what I'm doing wrong

Also, neither of my ASM codes do anything. I wonder if it's related to the gecko registers? Maybe I'm reading the wrong bits.
edit 50000: it's probably because I'm not allowed to use registers 1-4 in zelda. They don't crash the game (since I'm storing addresses in them?), but they're not working, either.

Ok since theirs like 5 twilight princess support threads that I've seen in the search, I just decided on this one instead of making a new one since it's a question about an existing code. I was wondering if someone could tell me exactly what each RGB handles.

I have been using
Hero's Clothes Color Modifier [hawkeye2777]
48000000 80497FE4
DE000000 80008180
140032A8 RRRRGGGG
120032AC 0000BBBB
140032B0 RRRRGGGG
120032B4 0000BBBB
E0000000 80008000

The question is, which on this line, 140032A8 RRRRGGGG, what does the first RR change and what does the second RR change? Or does Zelda use a 16-bit color code?  Is the first RR the undergarment/sleeves (the white parts, such as his tights), or the actual green part of the tunic? The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to make the tunic a custom color without it looking over saturated.

So I tried modifying the following to increase the brightness and change color. As you'll notice, this code does not touch the blue channel.

Darker Hero's Clothes [hawkeye2777]
48000000 80497FE4
DE000000 80008180
120032A8 0002FFF0
120032B0 0002FFF0
E0000000 80008000

After changing these slightly to make the clothes a little brighter he looks over saturated. Like theirs no detail to his tunic.

Like I want to change the hue only, not the luminence ect. Can someone find me the default values and maybe elaborate on what each RR GG and BB does? Cause I'd assume it's using RGB color. If it's html type color codes (like FFFFFF is white), I should be ok with default values. I dont have a USB Gecko so I've been kinda rebooting constantly and changing out gct's. Little time consuming... (I imagine you can make realtime changes with gecko for testing colors?)

Hero's Clothes Color Modifier
[hawkeye2777]

48000000 80497FE4
DE000000 80008180
140032A8 RRRRGGGG
120032AC 0000BBBB
140032B0 RRRRGGGG
120032B4 0000BBBB
E0000000 80008000

RGB Values:
0000-00FF (0 to 255)
FF00-FFFF (-256 to -1)
The first block is the Torso (lines 3 and 4), and the second block is the Legs (lines 5 and 6).

Did you not read the note? It says which lines are for which.

As far as for your other question, I don't think I can answer that. The code itself is buggy (I had problems with it, e.g. not all values work). The best results I got were the example codes I listed with the above code.

Also, the Darker Hero's Clothes (if I remember correctly) only changed Link's clothes to look like they do when they are wet.
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: EclipseSin on December 10, 2009, 11:22:03 PM
Indeed I did read the note. However, I thought maybe for example, in 140032A8 RRRRGGGG , the first rr would be torso tunic, and the second RR would be undergarment torso. That's what I'm asking because I have never seen this type of color coding, just the normal RRGGBB, not RRRRGGGGBBBB. I don't understand the -256 to -1. Would that not be black regardless? Or is it some kind of alpha?

Yeah, but I'm stuck because of the A4 thing. If I can't get A4 codetypes to work the code is impossible...

However, I don't need ASM anymore, cuz some helpful dude told me I could get the same thing as NOT by using XOR FFFFFFFF, so that helps.

I'm getting a usb gecko for christmas, so that should make things easier.  O0

I noticed that there are enemy health multiplier and damage multiplier (ie damage done by enemies) codes for the GC version. I haven't been able to find these codes for the wii version, so I was wondering if someone could either post them if they exist, or code them if they don't.

0049292B 00000000
E0000000 80008000
82000000 8049292B
Don't use this code with any other codes that use gr0, by the way.

So yeah, subtraction worked just as it should, I was just accidentally using the 86 codetype instead of 88. And the A6/A4 codes compare the values stored at the adresses stored in gecko registers, not the values in the gecko registers themselves. A4 and A6 seem to be reversed though.

Anyways, can someone test it with another version of gecko? I'm using 1.9.1, but if the gecko registers are located at different adresses the code won't work. It should be possible to make a version that does work, which I'll do later. I might also make a V2 or euro version if anyone wants it. Then I'll get started on my rupee code.

Thanks a lot for the code. I know your rupee code would have higher priority, but (if you are taking requests) could you also make a multiplier for enemy health? I ask because I saw it for the GC version, but there isn't one for the Wii version.

I tried playing with those codes actually. I thought they made swordfights kinda tedious tbh cuz enemies got knocked down way before they died, so every battle ended with a jumping stab attack. You could try using the ordon sword too.
I might try making it, if I can find the variable that controls link's damage output. I dunno how I'd even find the enemy health...

Anyways, here's the FINAL version of the multiplied damage code:

E0000000 80008000
82000000 8049292B

This one should hopefully work on any version of gecko. It needs the memory at 8000182A (gr8 in 1.9.1, possibly gr9 in others), so don't use it with other codes that use those registers. Though at a quick glance I can't see any codes that do, so it should be safe.

If anyone tries it, tell me how it works. Or if it works at all:p

Hi, I have V2 and I'm gonna test this right now. O0

Post Merge: December 30, 2009, 05:51:52 PM

Impressive! It works perfectly with x 4 damage :)

I second the want for a code that multiplies enemy health. I also suggest that, just like every 1/4 of a heart counts as 1 health for link, 1 health for an enemy would be like 1 shot from the slingshot. So, to see how much health an enemy has, see how many slingshot shots it takes to kill them. Just a thought  O0.

I have just started playing through this game again and I noticed something i didnt pay attention to before! When you first do the sumo thing with the mayor you are wearing the pants and robe thing from your ranch clothes and nothing else! I was wondering if it would be hacked to allow you to use this outfit through the entire game? Kind of like the hold R on outfit change for Ranch clothes code... What do you guys think?

Im posting this here because apparently my thread got deleted...

For example, if X=2, Y=3, opening a chest with 20 rupees would give you 14 rupees. If X=1, Y=3, it'll give you 7 rupees. In both cases 1 rupee would still be 1 rupee. Easy stuff. Remember that X and Y are hexadecimal!

Like the damage multiplier code, don't use this with codes that use gecko registers 8 or 9. However, you CAN use this code and the damage multiplier together (they use different 16-bit halves of the 32 bit register).

I made a rupee SUPER DELUXE code :O
Now instead of rounding up after division, it rounds down and stores the fractional part, and you get a rupee once the fractions reach one. So if it's set to 1/3 rupees, picking up 5 rupees will give you 1 rupee (2/3 is stored). Pick up another one and you get 2 (now 1/3 is stored). Don't use it with codes that use grA (grB in earlier geckos).

And it seems the damage code has a bug. If you save and quit with a lot of hearts, then instead of the opening movie with link riding majestically across the plains he'll just drop dead in his saddle. >_>

Yeah, I noticed the bug. I was really surprised  :P
Thanks a lot btw for the damage code. I already started a new game with x2 damage
and the game's way better that way. It's pretty hard in the beggining too
(fall in the lava = automatic death)

I could fix it if I found some address that says if you're on the title screen... but I'm lazy -_-
And it's so funny I kinda want to leave it in  :D

But yeeaaaaah, if anyone with euro/V2 zelda tries the rupee code, tell me how it works.

What makes you think you can't use your gecko with a usb loader?
I use configurable usb loader v54, and it works fine.
You can even edit which hook the game starts with. Go to the loader menu, hit 1 for game options, turn ocarina cheats on, change the hook type, and start your game, then load up wiird on your pc, and BAM, it's working fine.

^Oh, I never knew that. Thanks!

However, the hacking test isn't working right now, so I still need someone to post the codes for me (or give me hacker status). If some kindly mod could help me out I'd much appreciate it.

And there's a funny problem with the deluxe rupee code when I use Configurable USB Loader. For some reason it doesn't store the fractional part of your rupees, but just rounds upwards. I suspect it's because CUSBL's version of Gecko is different than the one I'm using (1.9.1), so perhaps one of the codetypes is behaving differently? The gecko registers aren't at different addresses so it's not that. I noticed that the 16 bits at 80001830 (where I store the rupee fraction) never decreases, which it shouldn't do, but I dunno why.
Here's the code with comments so you guys can take a look at it:

Are the initial sound bugs when using codes finally fixed now?
I have RVL P RZDE USA is that version 1?

Are you using the RVL-RZDE-0A-2 version?  That's the version that I have, and I remember it having no sound before.  It didn't matter if I had codes on or not, though.

Anyway, yes, newer versions of GeckoOS fixed the sound bug.  You can view the codes here...

http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RZDE01 (http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RZDE01)

Unfortunately, I don't believe that the "Must Be On for Zelda TP v2 USA [James0x57 (http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?chid=R&hacker=James0x57)]" code was ever fixed for the newer versions of GeckoOS, so some codes might not work.  However, there are still a good bit of '0A-2' codes listed on that page.

So I browsed through the database and the 20-page thread looking for the code that would enable me to carry around the Glowing (Twilight Realm) Master Sword throughout the whole game.  I found the "Link has the Master Sword (light restored) in hand" code by James0x57, but it does not seem to work--not the way I thought it would, at least.  While hoping to smite everything in the world with a light-infused blade, I'm instead left with the Master Sword by itself.  Does the code not work prior to the Twilight Realm?  Is there a v2 port of the "Any Sword Glows with Light Anywhere" code from the Gamecube?  Am I simply asking the impossible?

If it helps, here's the original code:

ZELDA HARD MODE
Wii codes for a hard version of the legends of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I have been searching for some codes that would make twilight princess harder for some time now. A year ago there was a similar post @ http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4068.0.html. (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,4068.0.html.), but it somehow went off topic and didn't go anywhere fast.
I just don't feel that the 3 heart code or the daredevil code quite does justice. The degenerative code seems to be just a variation of the 3 heart challange or daredevil challenge code. and so...

Here is the codes I would like:
(a)•Enemy does times (x) damage __OR__ Link takes (x) times damage.
(b)•Enemy is (x) times as fast.
(c)•Arrows from bow-wielding enemies are (x) times faster.
(d)•more enemies... Pretty vague, which means VERY MANY codes would work.
(e)•Link does times (1/x) damage __OR__ Enemy has (x) times health.
(f)•ONLY rupees appear in grass, in pots, or when defeating enemies. (NO hearts or bombs or arrows or whatever!)
(g)•Multiply wallet size by (x)
(h)•Multiply sale price by (x)

We currently only have (a) resolved. here are the codes...

Hi,

I can tell you that the third one (C) might not be possible.
correct me if I'm wrong but would it be how fast enemies arrows are (faster the arrows are, less time you have to move out the way)???

and the 6th one (f) , I think you would have to increase the percentage of rupees appearing and decrease the percentage of supplies and hearts appearing
(f) is possible, just never made yet, i think
I'll research it a little bit and get back to you.

I'm glad you made this thread Noltron. I actually had the old thread i created bookmarked and had been checking back to it from time to time until finally I decided that enough time had to have passed for some sort of new code to be released and I found this thread.

The kinds of codes you described would pretty much be perfect, if they were able to be done. I really don't know how to make codes for stuff like this at all so I can't really help out but I am definitely in favor of such codes, so you have my morale support. If my digging around ever turns up something relevant I'll try to remember to post it in here.

Some of the stuff was made... if you post other ideas I may try to find them while I'm still into hacking (just recently got interested again). Zelda is typically more about the difficulty of the puzzles rather than the fights, in my opinion, but making battles harder is a step in the right direction. Anyway...

A.) Done.
B, C.) No idea if these are possible; if they are I have no idea how to go about finding them.
D.) Same as above; it might be easier to respawn enemies after a certain amount of time. But again, no idea how to go about doing that.
E.) Have tried several times to find this... haven't been successful.
F.) Sounds reasonable... but then you'd have tons of rupees to spend on that stuff.
G.) Sounds relatively easy... could be wrong though.
H.) I'd just have to find where this is stored... the values would be probably be static.

Post other ideas if you have them. They may not be possible, but it's worth a shot.

Thought I would just post this here, instead of making a new topic.

I would like to know if it's possible to mirror the game (like it was on GC).
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

Also Could someone make a code that makes down on the D-pad use items and B swing your sword.
I didn't even know it was possible to reassign wii remote motion to a button until someone did it for donkey kong country returns.

Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a code to keep the Magic armor in it's powered down state, even when you have rupees, and for it to walk normally.
Basically a code to make it just like the Heroes Clothes, because it looks cool.  :cool:

Thanks in advance.

Hello
I have a request about this game.

Can someone make a code that Link can move on walls and celling and any floor with button activator?
And transform to Wolf/Human anywhere?

The GCN version of Zelda TP have this code on PAL and NTSC-U.

Or maybe can someone convert the GCN code to Wii code?

It would be great if someone can make this code or convert it.

Thanks!

Didn't notice this here, but I really need help so maybe posting in here as well will make a difference:

So I put these codes on and everything work fine, but the wii pointer aiming is all screwed up, like I'll aim with the bow and shoot an arrow, but it will shoot VERY far to the right or left of where the red dot sight is, same thing with the slingshot, grapplehook and whatever else is used, it makes playing the game very frustrating

Is this a known issue and is there any way to fix it?

Also, anyone know why the wolf fast dash only works in towns or villages?

About hard mode (e)•Link does times (1/x) damage __OR__ Enemy has (x) times health.

An idea-> Maybe if enemies are invincible for 2-3 first stabs and then have original health/or damage x 0.2?

So I tried the Ranch Clothes, Ordon Sword, Wooden Shield code (just for the clothes pretty much), and Gecko crashes whenever I have that code in my gct. Can someone make a code at least for the Ranch Clothes?

EDIT: Also, the re-fight boss codes didn't work. It didn't crash my game, they just didn't work :( I'm on v2 I believe if that helps.

Hi I need help with this game I can't progress because of the v2 codes I made it up to the 1st twilight realm part where midna is supposed to give me a boost to the first platform steps all the way to the top problem is she does nothing except sits on my back wolf form.

Do you have the Moon Jump code on?

It seems to do stuff like that (along with disabling the cutscenes you see before entering the Twilight realms).

I'm not aquanted with v2 codes but I think the disks setup is different. But if you have to many codes loaded the game will have glitches. Try going there with no codes on and see what happens

but that will suck if you go with no codes on because with the codes on makes the game much more greater

not true.
It depends on the codes someone is using and not how many.
However, if too many codes were put into a GCT, gecko os will refuse to load them.
If too many codeslines are sent at the same time by the debugger, the game dies.

My suggestion is to First try with Zero Codes like toonlink444 suggested, then if it still doesn't work, it sounds like you've messed up your save data. otherwise it may be one of them 3 codes.

ok I will try with zero codes and about the save data I have a guess on what it might be and I am thinking it might be the fact that the game has a lot of autosaves and that I am just going to have to save manually the game tells me do you want to save data I keep on saying yes where if I choose no and I choose to save manually might actually work but am not quite sure hmm

Only one of the cheats is causing a problem, you'll need to figure out which one and get rid of it.

Also, this goes in the USA Wii Support section.  I'm moving it there.

I just recently got Twilight Princess again, but in the Nintendo Selects collection. Sometime into the game i was interested in codes, as I have done that before on my previous v1 copy. But this copy seems to have a different code. The code is as follows: RDZE-USA-B0. I relly want to use codes on this, but not sure which version. Maybe v1 or v2. Who knows it may be a completely different version. If that is the case, maybe one of you people could help me with this problem.
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: 111 on July 18, 2011, 03:33:24 AM
I have never heard of a "RDZE-USA-B0" version of Twilight Princess before.  The version I have says "RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA" on the inner portion of the disc.

Please refer to this post (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,8488.0.html) and see if it says either "RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA" or "RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA," if you haven't already.  If it doesn't say either one, then existing codes for Twilight Princess may not work for your version.
Title: Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess [RZDE01]
Post by: dcx2 on July 18, 2011, 07:50:21 AM
If you see RDZE-USA-B0, then you're looking at the top of the disc on the outside rim.  That's not right.

Instead, you should look at the bottom of the disc on the inside rim.  Then you will see the right version string.

BTW, I think you have version 3, 111.

any way to get model switches like this in the wii version?

( i think this would along with the current model/actor replacement code)

EDIT: i have an unrelated question, sometimes when i use the 'super clawshot' code the aiming becomes very inaccurate.
an example would be, if i aim the wiimote striaght the game aims it down and it does this for all aiming weapons, any way to fix this?
(i dont know if the aiming problem can happen with other codes on, but it most likely does, i just dont know which code would be causing the problem)

Hi guys,

So I recently got the Wii version of TP (v2 to be exact), and I was wondering if someone could consider looking at a couple of codes I have for the GC version of TP to see if they can be made for the Wii version I have, please?

The two codes are:

30 Points in Boating Minigame
WEM4-TFGJ-ARTXH
N54T-PP5E-NQW1N

30,000 Points in Plumm's Fruit Pop Flight Challenge
PBJR-X9BF-PM1AU
EXC6-KHTA-MK6KT

So yeah, just wondering what option would be better here, attempting to convert the two codes to Wii TP, or making them from scratch?

Either way, my thanks.

Hi everyone! First off, thank you to all the code hackers/converters who made so many awesome codes for this awesome title! It's because of your efforts that people like me have nothing new to convert for this game! :)

I have a request. Now I'm not even sure if this is possible but there are some pretty talented people on here and I figure it never hurts to ask. If anyone has the time and ability to, I would greatly appreciate a Classic Controller (Pro) enable code. I actually think the sword directional swings should be mapped to the right thumbstick, just makes sense to me. Anyway, I don't wanna sound picky about the button layout or anything but the more flexible, the better. I think most everyone would be happy with a similar mapping to what OoT and Majora's use on the VC. Like I said, I don't even if this is possible or not nor do I expect anything from my request but you'd be making people like me very happy. Thanks at the least for reading my request!

//OTHERINFO//
I also posted a similar request for Skyward Sword. Just so it's out there. I can't believe Nintendo didn't just add this into the games to start with. Guess they felt it ruins the experience. To an extent, I'd agree with that statement but every now and then, I don't want to have to wave my hand around like an idiot to play a game. I'm old school though.

EDIT: Going along with my other request, i'd like to add another to it. I think it would be fantastic if someone could modify this game to use both the CC(P) & the GC controllers. I don't know much about how to do it but I imagine ideas could come from looking into the GC version of TP for the mappings. Anyway, this mod would absolutely MAKE MY DAY! If it happens. Thanks again for the read! :D

Does that mean go from one area to another like go through the entrance to the Ranch? Because I was actually playing the game for about an hour or two and I had just met Zelda when I last saved. So is it just that I'm dumb and don't know what a loading zone is or am I doing something wrong?

A few codes somewhat relatable to that request;

Equipment Modifier [goemon_guy]
024929F9 0000XXXX
These can be added together to get different combos of equipment.
X values:
0001=Ordon Sword
0002=Master Sword
0004=Ordon Shield
0008=Wooden Shield (Takes priority over the Ordon Shield)
0010=Hylian Shield
0080=Hero's Clothes
0100=Magic Armor
0200=Zora Armor

Have all equipment [goemon_guy]
024929F9 00000397

Master Sword Status [goemon_guy]
004929FE 000000XX
00=Normal
8F=Embued with Twilight light

Add Magic Armor to Equipment (Press 2) [goemon_guy]
2844BB6A 00000100
82100000 804929F9
86000000 00000100
84100000 804929F9
E0000000 80008000
note: ONLY PRESS THE COMBINATION ONCE.
You will likely screw something up if you do.
Save the game immediately after the change is made and turn off the code.
