Title: Super Paper Mario [R8PE01]
Post by: Yoshi52 on December 20, 2008, 12:08:15 AM
OK, so, I'm having trouble with this game. None of the codes work at all. I've tried using Ocarina, Gecko OS Normal Launch, and Gecko OS Hook, yet none of the codes I've activated work. Can someone help?

And, other people should post their code problems, or other support related stuff, too.

When I first tried, I only had the "Health [pizzaboy]" code on. Yet, it still didn't work.

Which codes are you trying to use?

Oddly enough this guy I know seems to have had the exact same problem... We never found out why. Perhaps this should be looked into more.

RVL-R8PE-0A-1 USA

That's the version of my SPM disc. It looks like the standard 1.0 (U) version... Anyone know the problem yet?

Last I checked the cause was the same as LoZ: Twilight Princess's. Two versions with minor changes that didn't inspire Nintendo to change the actual versions in memory, but as such rendering there to be a need of separate codes for each version but no way to tell which version you have except by trying out the 1.0 codes and seeing if they fail or succeed.

Only fix would to be either create a patch like James did for TP (Which when 2.0 comes out it probably won't work on it), or find someone with SPM 1.0b and USB Gecko to find the codes again/port them.

Wow, re-posting my comment actually worked. :)

Er, I mean... So, I just gotta get someone to work on getting a new version of codes? Rats...

You can get the Star in your items, but using just gives you 1,000 points, I'm pretty sure.

But, did anyone try looking further into the "multiple versions of SPM" thing yet?

It seems I have the non-working version as well - when you do get the new codes will they be posted on the main download page or should I look for them in this thread?

Huh? I thought that happened to the PAL owners only... It happened to the NTSC owners too?

And what version would you make the codes for?

The version that I own is NTSC and since none of the codes work for me I assume that the problem exists in my version as well (unless you are referring to the bug you quoted, in which case I do not know the answer to that question as I have not encountered that particular bug. The bottom of my disc says: RVL-R8PE-0A-2 USA (if that helps). Would someone mind posting codes that will work with my version or please tell me what I may be doing wrong? I do not actually have the USB gecko device, I am using the homebrew channel, and Gecko OS method (perhaps that may be the problem?).

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

I was unable to post a reply in the other forum so I'm going to go ahead and make a post here and hope that asianking or another person who is able might respond here:
The following codes DID work for me (I had only just discovered them today)!

QuoteDon't really have time, but these codes are for the second version of R8PE01. If gecko site codes doesn't work for you, u can try these codes. I will add more codes when I have time... For now, these are the important one.

I would like to know if someone could add some of the other codes that were created for version one - I am most interested in the have 255 of all cards one in particular. I have the version 2 copy and the ones posted on the main download does not work for me. Thank you very much in advance!
Edit: Sorry I just realized that I forgot to put the original in quotes - hopefully my intent should be easier to see.  :-[

Hello, this is my first post, if this is considered spam or the wrong directory please forgive me. I'm requesting that someone revise this code so I don't gain experience points in Super Paper Mario.

I think EXP / Max Level has to be revised but I don't know how to make my points stay at 0, any help will be appreciated. I want to deal a simple 1 point of damage for every hit. Thanks.  :)

That fellow has been banned for two weeks for being a complete utter tool.

Furthermore, I've split the topic and moved the 'discussion' to somewhere innocuous.

Now then... let's keep this topic about the game and its code support and not somebody's psychological issues.

I too,am pissed    >:( >:D about none of these codes working for my copy of Super Paper Mario and would like to see them get ported for every alternate version of Super Paper Mario so that we can finally toy around with stuff like size mods and all of the other great codes for this great game.
