Title: [Help] Zelda: Collectors Edition
Post by: shark2003 on December 17, 2008, 05:02:43 PM
WIIRD doesnt work with the Collectors Edition,it will hook but if you load a game WIIRD will hang (disconnect) so codes cannot be used. Good news is I got Action Replay to work in GC mode. I am using AR Version 1.14 (backup copy) loaded after booting into GCOS 1.6d  I dont think this will work with backups though. I have a modded Wii,but I dont think backups will work with AR...I'll try this evening on a backup and find out.

I tried it out and Backups do work with AR if you boot with GECKO OS....yeah... :D

I guess this was no big news...lol....its really only good info for the Zelda Collectors Disc because it has all of the Zeldas up to WW....and WIIRD isnt compatible with it....

How did you get action replay 1.4 to work with geckoOs 1.6b..after I boot AR with 1.06b, select the cheats and eject then insert the game disc, I get black screen of death.

older MIOS should do the trick. or a modified wii. modified MIOS could be done but is impractical as the only thing you would need to patch is only fixed by v5 so getting v4 is same as patching.

I really dont know how I got AR working, actually it works without using Gecko OS. Sometimes I get a black screen and then have to reboot and start over again. I do know that I tried using AR before and couldnt get it working...I have to think of what I may have done in order for it to work...FYI..my version is 3.3U and I have Wiikey installed

So, that means you can't make it work now. My hopes were up in the sky when you mentioned that you got it working on 3.3u, now it fells way down.........

What the heck...I just tried the Action Replay 1.4 on Zelda Collector's Edition and it loads fine with cheats

shark2003, have you run it successfully with other games as well ??

Update: Just found out that my Action Replay was working all this time after upgraded Wii to 3.3u, I happened to test the only 1 game (pal) that refuse to work on my ntsc Wii after the upgrade, and I thought it had lost AR compatiability like many people said after they upgraded to 3.3u.

Maybe it was the 3.3 update that did it...LOL...I did run a backup of Mario Kart DD with AR for a minute and it seemed to be working fine also...maybe Nintendo has forgiven Datel....not!...actually...I did get my AR Max disc working also but I had to use Gecko OS for that...I think..on second thought I think I may have had to load an old GCOS dol first and then boot my AR Maxdrive Pro disc...really dont need to use that for anything now anyway though...these are some of things I was fooling with trying to trick the Wii gamecube into running the Action Replay disc but it turned out that I didnt have do anything special...

Yes, as long as you have a modded Wii then Action Replay still will work fine. Just load it from the Wii Game Channel.
