Title: 3.4U and Gecko OS
Post by: jasonjinct on December 13, 2008, 04:08:17 PM
Gecko OS - v1.07b
Homebrew Channel - 1.0.1

I updated my wii to 3.4U and play all downloaded games (without Trucha-signed) perfectly and well.

But after I updated to 3.4U, I tried to play some trucha-signed DVD by Gecko OS and it not work, the Homebrew channel and Gecko OS software able to boot, but when I press "Launch Game" on the Gecko OS Menu, Gecko OS will stuck at "Launching Game" screen, and the Trucha-signed game doesn't load.

Any idea to fix this?

people overreact when 1 person's goes wrong but never stop to think when a million go right.

i don't know what i'm saying....

downgrading is safer then you think, as long as you know what your doing.

the only people i know that have bricked their wiis are:
pal users updating from paper mario.
OR
NTSC-U users updating from  mario kart wii.

no ones ever bricked their wii in any other way(that ive heard of)

it's almost impossible to brick your wii if you know what you're doing

There is a banner brick, but that mostly happens from installing illegal WAD files.

The online mode of Mario Kart Wii should still work regardless of the firmware that you are on.  If it is an imported game, the firmware could possibly cause your Wii to semi-brick or full brick.  However, as long as you run it through GeckoOS, the update partition will be bypassed.

All that '3.3V2' and above does is block the Rebooter function of GeckoOS.

...and trucha-signed software. (regarding the first post). 3.3v2 fixes the bug in IOS 30 and 36 IIRC while 3.4 fixes it in every IOS.
