I have been using Gecko Os for some time now and have acquired a channel to cut down on clicking and its been fantastic my problem is is there a way I can make it auto boot with Japanese set on my Pal Wii as I mainly use it for the Naruto games and even with a D2Ckey It blackscreens.
:) Thanks for the best thing since sliced bread IMO even better than a certain hacked version
You would have to edit the source and recompile it.
Would i just alter {{"Console Default"} to {{"Japanese"} in geckomenu.c?
Forgive my ingnorance the most i have ever coded is a link :D
There is no official Gecko OS Channel. Whatever you are using right now is based off of pirated WAD files and Warez tools. We can not help you with this issue as its not an official Gecko OS release. Sorry...
Sorry I thought it was an official release as it wasn't Backup launcher Im not even sure where I found it now come to think of It. Thanks for taking the time to reply are there any plans on an Official channel or adding some sort of way to save your last settings?
Making a legit channel isnt easy. You need to get authentic 'keys' and 'tickets' that say "ey', im a legit channel". Most warez or bootleg homebrew channels use either forged or stolen keys, or use known flaws in the Wii Firmware to think its legit. There was some talk about a Gecko OS channel, but nintendo keeps fighting fake signed channels, so it would be more work to keep on top of making new releases compatible with future updates, which takes development time away from the features in Gecko OS.
what Foxx said.. in general you can say that the only legit homebrew channel is the Homebrew Channel itself..
Thanks for the replies guys I have reverted to the official version from here (probably safest option).
When I boot an NTSC game I have to match the games video mode ie NTSC for NTSC games on my PAL Wii otherwise it green/black screens but from what ive read I should be matching my TV's Video mode.
My TV is PAL 50/60 NTSC compatible so its not an issue.
Im just curious are the correct options for a PAL Wii to force the TV's video mode or match the games video mode? This is not on all games some require the language to be matched and others just boot from default settings.
