OK, so I have the latest HBC installed on a PAL Wii, version 3.3E. I have the latest Gecko OS that was released for HBC beta 9, and here's what happens:
-Go into HBC, select Gecko OS
-Load it up
-Get a black screen with a small blue border, picture of a Gecko in the corner (go figure)
-Pop in No More Heroes US version, press reset.
-Get a completely black screen complete with white text that is very difficult to read, the text covers about 1/3 of the screen and has a range of numbers. It looks like some sort of error code, but I can't read it.
So any tips? I've never tried to play an import before, and I would have just borrowed a friends freeloader but I upgraded past 3.2.
Thanks for any help.
If you have any GameCube Memory Cards inserted into the Wii, remove them.
And if you have downloaded and installed the official IOS51 update (a.k.a. version 3.3v2) that fixed the signing bug in all previous IOS, try to avoid the rebooter, it does not work.
The fixed version bu Muzer and tona at wiibrew.org is OK however.
111.... thankyou so much!!!!
Oh my god I've spent so long trying to get all this stupid stuff to work and all I had to do was remove the gamecube memory cards.
I am kicking myself but incredibly happy, thanks!
I had the same problem, I only put a GC memory card in my wii for the first time ever this morning so I could play viewtiful joe in anticipation of tatsunoko vs capcom. Thanks so much, now back to the game. :)
Hi, I'm having the same problem (same as the first post) since GeckoOs 1.6. I updated HBC to 0.9 and GeckoOS to 1.70b, it was the same. I updated HBC to 1.0 and it's the same.
I thought the gamecube card would fix me too,no luck. I recently installed Gecko to my apps folder in Homebrew. All I get is a black screen and dead remote when I load Gecko. I'm running 4.3 with 1.9.1.3.
Any ideas?
Also make sure there are no USB devices plugged in. I vaguely recall someone saying that the USB mic would cause Gecko OS to freak out.
