i just got a message today that says a new update's available. Is it safe? Or does it stop geckoOS/Ocarina?

The newest update will block all versions of the Twilight Hack from being placed onto your console. It is highly recommended that you NOT UPDATE.

thanks... I utterly despise Nintendo. I mean, they make some great games, but they don't seem to like their customers very much. >_>

They are a company who doesnt want people stealing their property, it has nothing to do with liking their customers.

dont defend them, they just dont care as much as other companies, like (oh gawd, I'm gonna regret this...) Bungie. *Runs away*

But really, there just not in touch with their fan base.

You've got to defend them.. Nintendo specifically blocks DVDX and so on in this update.. they know why.. I guess their main purpose isn't to defeat homebrew in general - they wanna defeat the backup loaders - these mean a loss of money!
