Title: Mario Galaxy
Post by: michael2016 on August 01, 2008, 04:44:18 AM
Hi guys,

I tried to backup my PAL copy of Mario Galaxy today onto my PC which worked fine. I copied it with imageburn however once I load it up through the channel screen all I get is a black screen and nothing else.. what can I do?

Same thing here, except all mine is the NTSC version. Weird.

hey mate,

i did some research and although it seems like it probably wouldn't be the case, considering it's something so trivial - you'll actually find that a majority of the problems you encounter in playing backup games comes from the discs you use to copy them.

i went and bought some verbatim dvd-r's (not dvd+r's as these didn't work for Mario Galaxy) and they work flawlessly for every game I've backed up so far.

just burn at a slow speed using a high quality dvd-r and you should be good to go.

i use only verbatim dvd-r (singapore die) for testing and burn at 4x speed, this seems to be fine.

i tested that monkey ripper with some gamecube games i backup up and they all booted fine, so i assume all Wii games do too.

glad you got it sorted Michael

Hey mate,

yeah I've been using Monkey's ripper as well and have had no problems at all UNTIL I tried to backup SSBB. I went and bought some different DVD+R DL's (the +R' DL's are preferred for SSBB) and lo and behold, success :)

Have you tried backing up Mario Galaxy with an LG drive and Rawdump?

I have successfully backed this game up and burned it to TayoYuden (Made in Japan) DVD-R media.
