Title: Red Colored Games with Scart Cable
Post by: hasenkot on October 28, 2008, 06:35:30 PM
hi,
i use the newest GeckoOS 1.07b on my PAL Wii with the Homebrew Channel. Loading NTSC Games works fine, but if i use the Scart Cabel for TV-Wii Connection i get the game colored in red. Instead i use the standart wii cabel (yellow/red/white cinch) the color is orgiginal and fine.
I would like to run geckoos with the scart cable, because the quality with the standart is not good.
Please help me, thx
greetings

the main reason is: Gecko OS starts NTSC games in NTSC color mode.. this is internally switching the Wii.. and in NTSC mode the Wii does not support the RBG (Scart) cable.. NTSC consoles do not support RGB and thus all Wiis running in NTSC mode do not support RGB either.. including European ones..

however what you can do: you could enter the options and select to Force PAL60 or Force PAL50 (PAL60 has higher compatibility).. most games work in PAL mode.. just a tip: if you want to use Brawl:  in Brawl go into options and disable deflicker.. then the game will work in PAL60 mode and run fine (it will be just black during the warning screen however so wait through that screen - 45 seconds)...
