Great, now all we need are the stage modifiers...

Mind if I put these in my thread here?

What's this game's ID? And is there a way to find a game's ID with Ocarina?

Edit: Nevermind, I found a list.

You can put them anywhere as long as you give credit.

I was going to request the same as that's the area I am having the most trouble with. I am thinking it might not have been done as to prevent the leaderboards from getting all screwed up with people cheating, which I understand, but could use a little extra help (boost) in beating some of those fast ghost times.

But great job and works perfect in single player / race.

Dexter0 - Thanks for the updated codes. I did try both time trial codes and they didn't work for me (the grand prix ones do). I tried twice, just to make sure I didn't make a mistake copying something over, but both times, no go.

I used Mario, the default kart on Luigi's Circuit as the main test. Tried a few others as well and still didn't work.

So not sure if there might be a problem with the codes maybe the address is different for characters, etc. but wanted to let you know.

Again, thanks for the update.

@all who say my code no work

Try removing this line from the Always Have Item code: 30000000 00000014
Either that, or use up all your mushrooms and see if the code kicks in.

Thanks for updating, but I tryed both the things you said (I tryed to get the Gold Mushroom for the Time Trials using the Always Have Item Code) and it still didn't work.

Hey, thanks for the codes, got a request here, would it be possible to have 'always have item' codes for say a four player race (not wifi) so that first player could have the item of their choice, second player with an item of their choice, etc?

Tried both and unfortunately it still doesn't work for me. Thanks.

EDIT: Thinking about this a bit more, and forgive me as I am not exactly sure how the code is working behind the scenes, but here are some thoughts.

I think the problem relates to the fact the game gives you 3 mushrooms to start off with and think that may be overwriting your code for the always have or even the button press to give an item. Since the mushrooms are the best item to have for time trials (in my opinion) - perhaps another way to look at this is to either find the statement that is decreasing the count and nop it out, so it always stays at 3, or forcing a 3 as the value the whole time (even a 1 would work - just something so you always have a mushroom). I am not sure if this code, or all of them in general, work like hooks so whatever value you are writing is always shoved into that address, if not, then perhaps that is what is needed for the original code, so if the game does overwrite the address / data then your data would always be shoved back in. Just a thought...
Title: Wii Cheat Code Manager file
Post by: Dteyn on August 03, 2008, 05:08:13 AM
Hello everyone,

First I want to say thanks to dexter0 for creating these codes.  Great work! :)

I was getting tired of manually "assembling" the codes, so I thought I'd create a Wii Cheat Code Manager file that includes (almost) all variations of dexter0's codes.  I took the time to make it look nice and easy to use, this way you simply click the code you want and click export, voila it's on your SD card. No more need to copy/paste and edit the AA/XX/Y values!

I've attached a zip file that contains a .txt file, this should be loaded with Wii Cheat Code Manager.  It will take a second or two to load all the codes, but once they're loaded you should be good to go!

One variation I didn't add are the Gamecube Y+A codes, as well as the Time trial versions.  Perhaps the next time I'm feeling bored I'll add them as well. :)

Also, if anyone has suggestions or corrections, I'm all ears.

Enjoy! :)

I know this isn't a request thread, but, since it isn't nearly as popular as the Brawl thread I said, why not. So, I have one request.

VR points always 0. You know, the online points that you gain/lose? I want it so it's always 0 and I never gain anything so it always remains 0.

Thanks! :)

I will explain, dlf. We take the item code (this is for regular play).

48000000 809BDAC0
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 FFFF9D3C
30000220 00000014
14000220 000000XX
14000224 0000000Y
E0000000 80008000

We see the list of values looking for the gold shroom.
The gold shroom value is 0A

We then take the code and change XX for the value of the desired item (gold shroom). And also change the Y to 1.We would end up with this:

48000000 809BDAC0
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 FFFF9D3C
30000220 00000014
14000220 0000000A
14000224 00000001
E0000000 80008000

Hopefully it works,since I can't test right now,but I'm sure it's like that.VERY sure.

Guys - not trying to be rude, but can we take this discussion elsewhere? It really has nothing to do with Mario Kart specific codes and you can find answers to most of your questions elsewhere on these forums. Check for HBC (home brew channel), twilight hack, ocarina, etc. But in general, you either need a modded wii and/or twilight princess, the twilight hack and hbc to install hbc, then you can run homebrew, ocarina, etc.

Guys, I just tried the TT codes again and they work fine.  I made one small change to the Always Have code.

I am still using the BETA version of WiiRd, let me download the new release.  Are you guys trying to run this with Ocarina?

EDIT: I am using the most recent WiiRd with Gecko OS 0.1 and they work fine.

Thanks for the update. I'll give these a try and see if they work, but won't be able to do it until later this evening.

I am using Ocarina launched through HBC with an original copy of Mario Kart US/NTSC. Unless someone else tests and reports back sooner, I'll post my findings later this evening.

EDIT: Actually, don't think there is a need to test through Ocarina. I noticed the change you made was to remove line: 30000000 00000014 which I had already tried. I'll still give it a go, but don't think it is going to work.

Perhaps the memory address (base or offset) is different between Wiird / Ocarina. I know I ran into similar issues with the SDK/Debugger and EVOX/TSR.

Hey Dexter0 - I tried your update and as I suspected it didn't work for me (Ocarina).

I also decided to try a few other things, none of which worked, but thought I would share in case anyone else was thinking of trying them.

I tried just using the TT always on with nothing else, in case there was some conflict, but didn't work.

I also compared the codes you had and noticed one difference, aside from the first line which I am thinking has to do with the base address, but haven't really read up on codes to know the format of .

Anyway, the one difference I noticed was the following:

Always On (Championship):

4A100000 FFFF9D3C

Always On (Time Trial):

4A100000 FFFFFD94

So I tried the line from Championship, thinking it was
and the routines would be the same, but again, didn't work.

Again, thanks for the work and for looking into this.

You might want to add a side note, that for use in TT mode, you must be on solo time trial. They have not worked for me in TT mode racing a ghost.

Great catch Stealh!

Dexter0 - I just tried it and it works for Solo Time Trials - so the code was working all along, as long as you don't race against a ghost - so again, thanks for the code, and great job! I tried just about everything except that.

I can also confirm that you can still unlock the faster ghosts and get the unlockables associated with it when doing solo - so as far as I am concerned, the code does exactly what I was hoping it would do!

Regards!

You bring up a great point!  The game must treat the ghost as a extra racer who then would take up space in the object stack pushing the needed offset further in order to write to your item address.

I will create an additional code.

Good news everyone! I've been using dex's code here to teach myself how to make codes, and I've discovered a variation that works on all Single-Player modes (haven't tested it in other modes so it may work there too!):

I'm also going to try and make a version that lets you cycle through the items like the one for the EU version. ;)

EDIT: Finished the code. I'll post after I test it tomorrow.

EDIT: No luck. Code is horrible; more like get random item and crash every so often. PM me if you know how to hack and want to help.

I think the WFC codes are legally (please don´t banning me >.<) because every person is free to do what he wants. But if this person is banned it is his problem, NO the web or administration problem, they must use it under own risk, the CWF Mario Kart hacking is a "classic" y the NINTENDO cheating. But the norms are the norms and we must respect them (the norms jeje my english isn´t perfect if I´m not express with clarity)
--EDIT--
Oh and, the Time Trials cheats should be legal because NINTENDO can banning

Un saludo

Because Brawl specifically has With Friends mode and codes are being made for that. For Mario Kart, there isn't really anything you can do that adds to the experience for both players in With Friends. Everything that's out code wise for MKWii is cheating for both players and therefore, isn't adding to the experience, just making it so one person can win 100% of the time. Doesn't sound like fun to me. That and there may not even be a way to separate it so the codes only work for its With Friends mode like Brawl.

I don't know, it's just the way it is, put up with it.

Is it possible to make a code where you are always in 5 - 12? This way you would always get the best items even when you're in first place. I turned on the instant finish codes for players one through four and when I was playing online the game would think I was in 5th when I was in first, so I was getting golden mushrooms and mega mushrooms in first place.

The problem with it is that when you start the final lap, you stay in first place even if you aren't. It also seems that depending on the amount of players in the race, you might not always start in 5th. When there were three racers, I started the race in first and with 6 racers I started in 4th which would cause me to instant finish and be disconnected while the CPU drives around the track, but with 8 - 12 racers, I started in 5th even though I was actually in first. Then when second place passes me, I'm in 6th.

I need to learn how to use ASM.  I think that you need to put out a tutorial on how to do some ASM hacks :)

That's a much nicer hack than the frankenstein code that I knocked together that works online.  Mine relies on a pointer for the first racers item object, then put the same item at a set offset (item offset) for the remaining 11 racers :(

perhaps true volderbeek but here is why I like assembly

1.  It should work anywhere in the game (except multiplayer modes but that can be a quick fix)
2.  It will always work 100%
Also, only half of it is in ASM.  I could not find any other clean way to do it without that Write Char Offset code.

Please, though I am interested in looking at how other people's online codes work.  Do share with me over PM.

Neato.

EDIT: Odd, there's an error.

When I put the code in, says there's an error in the code when I export it to GCT.

I replaced the values.

Oh yeah, it's only for the anywhere code.

Is it perhaps the length?

My normal one for GPs is this:

48000000 809BDAC0
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 FFFF9D3C
30000220 00000014
14000220 000000XX
14000224 00000003
E0000000 80008000

Actually I set up the txt wrong. How do I set it up properly?

I'm so confused.

Can you just attach your txt file or something?

I have found many more Wii Wheel button activators than the two listed in dexter's post. I'll also include dexter's two button activators in this list. 00000000 and 00001000 are just more always have item codes. I couldn't find any working button combinations for 00001900 and above. It's possible there are more beyond it, but these are enough to have access to every item at once.

30341460 00000000 = Always have item
30341460 00000100 = 2
30341460 00000200 = 1
30341460 00000300 = 1 + 2
30341460 00000400 = B
30341460 00000500 = 2 + B
30341460 00000600 = B + 1
30341460 00000700 = 1 + 2 + B
30341460 00000800 = A
30341460 00000900 = A + 2
30341460 00001000 = Always have item
30341460 00001100 = - + 2
30341460 00001200 = 1 + -
30341460 00001300 = 1 + 2 + -
30341460 00001400 = B + -
30341460 00001500 = 2 + - + B
30341460 00001600 = B + - + 1
30341460 00001700 = B + - + 1 + 2
30341460 00001800 = A + -

Just fill in the XX and Y values and optionally add your own button activator and your good.  Yes, you do need both codes.

Also, I recommend you edit the code out of your post because the mods probably won't like it.  That's why I posted it on my personal site as well as kodewerx (where they could care less about online hax)

Title: Mario Kart Wii [NTSC-US]
Post by: WiiMiiUnI on August 09, 2008, 06:32:18 PM
The code Dexter graciously provided with the character offset code and always have code; they have to be 2 seperate codes, both activated?  and as for the button activator; is that simply adding the AAAAAAAA AAAAAAAA (button applicator) code as the first line of the always have code, or do i need to make it seperately?  I have tried the 1st, going to try the 2nd.  I have successfully made dexter0's codes work for GP, going to test the other modes.

I'm not sure if this changes whether or not those of us trying to implement the code will be successful, but I personally do not have a gecko.  Does that matter?  I am trying to get the online working, yes, but not for using it all over the place to get to 9999 and torment people.  like smash, I want to play my friends, specifically my cousin in NC with these codes and give him the same codes, just to mess around.

I will be more than willing to be a sort of 'beta tester' and try working out all of these codes and being a helpful contributor to the coding scene if some one would be willing to help me clear things up a bit.  I'd hate to be a leech, if I can be of some help, I would love to be.  This is my first experience with having some fun on a console!  (tried modding 4 ps2s, i gave up on losing $100 a pop lol)

Seems others are having the same problem.  is it lack of a gecko?  can we use the codes in the same way with ocarina?  thanks for info.  and if these questions belong in another area lemme know where to re route.

Pick a button activator from my list.  Copy and past it, then copy and paste the rest of the online code and your done.  Make sure you also have my Write Char Offset code too.

I've never used Ocarina so I can't say what it supports and what it does not support.  Write Char offset uses and assembly patch and I don't know if that was implemented in Ocarina.

Post by: WiiMiiUnI on August 09, 2008, 07:26:49 PM
i took both those aforementioned codes, the char offset and the always have item (in every mode) code, and like the other users it didn't work for me with ocarina.  i DID get it to work when i pasted volderbeek's codes and your codes both together.  they work together, but not seperately, at least for me.

will look into try any/all combinations possible.  this works with just ocarina and HBC... what are the advantages of a gecko?

I felt awful using a golden mushroom on luigi raceway; 1:05 race time and 1/2 lap ahead of 11 people is not fun =\

you make multiple button activated item modifiers for different items. read previous posts on this information

Dexter0, you should also add these button activators to the first post.

Your Wii list is for the Remote + Nunchuk. Although most of them work with the wheel, Up and Down have different codes for the wheel:

Up 0001
Down 0002

And surprisingly, switching your up and down codes to the right and left codes on the wheel doesn't work. So I've tried 0003 - 0012 and none of them work for left and right on the wheel. I've also tried 0101 and 0102. Is there any easy way to find the button activator codes for left and right on the wheel?

they are not different values for the wii wheel. you're holding it sideways so what you think is up is actually Left to the game and its not for both wiimote and nunchuck

also what you think is left and right is really up and down so your values for "Right" (Down) should be 0004 and for "Left" should be 0008 (UP)

Do you ever read threads? Because if you did, you'd know there's an Always Have Item code for WiFi.

And the reason WHY we're not supporting WiFi codes is because it RUINS the experience for everybody else if all you do is cheat by always having a star on or by always have Red shells. It's unfair to those who can't cheat and makes it unfun. Anyone with half a brain could've figure that out. =\

Codes that are used with friends are okay because they know and it's for fun. Codes with nobody you know (a.k.a Worldwide) is completely unfair and is not fun.

You are right about those being the right codes. The problem seems to be that you can't have more than two items mapped to the D-Pad. Since I already had an item assigned to up and down, whatever I assigned for left and right wouldn't work. Is this correct or has anyone got four items working on their D-Pad?

Also, is it true that the lightning bolt doesn't work online? I have noticed that the other players didn't fall off the track when I used it as they were going over a jump. And they seem to still go full speed as they spin out. Why is that?

I've officially given up on making a true cycle through items code. I'm just gonna  strip it down and change the name to accurately reflect what it does. Maybe now I'll try and make some original codes.

yes ocarina works with the assembly code... g2 make the character offset code a seperate code from the always have item code (which is different for online)

dexter0, volderbeek and the rest of you guys, brilliant.  i'm having a ball with this stuff!!  i try yto stay away from wifi though, every time i do it (about 10 or so races now) i feel guilty as hell.

btw, when i use the wifi code for 2player wifi, and play with my gf on the same console, we both get the item!  she like sbullet bills, so;

when the race starts we both have bullet bills, only mine lasts 1 use; she has infinite bullet bills!

looks like the item code works for both users, but the 'always have' aspect does not.  is that an aspect of the offset char code?

If you were going to use dexter's code for offline play, it would look like this:

30341460 00000001
48000000 809BDAC0
DE000000 80008180

14000220 0000000E
14000224 00000001
E0000000 80008000

EDIT: It looks like you are trying to use three D-Pad buttons for your items. I have not been able to get more than two D-Pad buttons working for items at the same time.

when i play 2 player wifi vs my 2 friends on wifi, which they r well aware of our codes, only 2nd player gets them.  sometimes, i get the item i want, say stars, we both get them, only 2nd player 'always has item' while i get it only once.  been trying to splice together different codes, no avail.

i noticed the numerical value of the hexidecimal code between players 2 3 and 4 from the original code is 764, tried adding that to the line that determines player value but it still didn't work.  any thoughts?  i had it work, i want both of us to either have the same weapon, 'always' or the choice of weapon, 'always' as well.

edit: (hate double posting) where is the database for these codes?  this is my first time on this forum since it has a plethora of mario kart info.  people are amassing these codes but they rn't in these posts, a link would be fantastic.

I don't know how dex's wifi code works as I don't know how to disassemble the machine code portions, but I'll wager a guess that it checks your player offset. It must not settle until it finds P2. My version just writes to all the player offsets so it doesn't matter which you are in wifi, so my version would probably give you both the same item. You'll have to ask dexter0 to make one that works separately for 2-player wifi as that's beyond me for now.

No, it's 248. But it won't matter on wifi, since you don't know what you'll be. You would have to check somehow.

Now you can play 2 player WiFi and only first player will get the items.  Make a copy of the code without the above line and second player will also get the item.

First question: Just put the code in again for both to have it.

Second question: Yes, right at the top of the "Always Have" not "Write Offset".

i was wondering why i couldn't get the button activator to work... wavebird and wired cube controllers have diff codes?  interesting.  as Volderbeek suggested, can some1 amass all the button activators for all the controllers (classic, wiimote, wireless and wired GCN controllers) in a single post as a reference?  tia.

I see Dexter0 replied with 'Oh and here is the address for 2nd player's GC controller. Use it to make a button activator: 80343E8C' is this for wireless or wired?  I'm going to play a 1P game using a wired Cube controller in the 2P port, see if this works.  will it still assign the code for 1P since i'm playing 1P, or will it use 2P code since it's plugged into the 2P port?

Dexter0, thanks yet again for the "4A100000 FFFFFDB8" multiplayer wifi value.  i can now play online with some1 and we both have items forever

OK.  I'm not concerned about wifi cheating anymore because every1 is doing it!!!  holy ****, every other race i'm in i get owned!  time to bust out starmen.

best of all... some guy stopped next to me after getting nailed by 4 red shells in a row... next thing ya know, i keep getting hit and hit and hit repeatedly in the same spot!  I literally couldn't move, just flipped over and over... came in last!  seemed to me like invisible infinite item placement!!  any1 experience this?  oi... if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em.

for the button values you provided Volderbeek; does U D L R for the cube controller refer to the D-Pad?  I would assume yes but would love a confirmation since i can't get the button activator to work for me yet on my wired controller.

yea, been trying every cube code ive seen so far (3; 2 on the 1st post, and one from post 124) on both 1P and 2P ports, and with several diff button combos.  after about 15+ attempts, nutin yet.  going to wait for official wired cube controller 1P-4P codes.

til then Myto, no activators.  unless u get something working!  i'm spent.  an activator would be nice to have triggers for specific items!  One for now that I always have is pretty neat.  About to start using the wiiwheel soon... too bad a few months ago i destroyed my wavebird for being finicky!*

going to test those out right now.... just a heads up, im testing this on the net with the wifi code, which i won't mention what it is, let those who want it find it right?  ;P

using the offset char code, then the 'wifi' code and started it off with (i use a wired controller, in port 1)

38343E80 00000900
rest of code here...
and here...
and so on...

to my understanding... that's how the button activator, for a wired controller, in port 1, with Y (800) + A (100) as the trigger, should work correct?  going to try it now.

edit:  nothing.  i hit Y + A repeatedly, with no weapon activation.  i came to a stop to make sure that drifting, mini-turboing or wheelies didn't affect the button combo, still didn't work.  as a test i removed the button activator line, the code worked and i 'always had item' perminently.

although now that i see what you put, for wired cube controllers we must ADD 80 to the desired button(s) value?!  going to try it again!!

IT WORKS!  Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! =) =) =) =)
To all whom are having trouble with the button activators, the previous post should take care of business.  I need to get a hold of a wavebird to see if this works, or if any1 has a wavebird please try the button activator for 'gcn controller' and see if it works.  Kamek, could it be that one of the buttons you programmed for the button activator isn't working properly?  just curious, though i doubt you have a broken button.  once the well-organized button activator code here is utilized by some more people, we'll have a confirmation... excellent job volderbeek, much appreicated!

how do you attach files to your post?  i'd like to share the text file with all of the codes from this thread as i've been updating as it gets posted and organized.

i just checked out the Wii Code DB, the button activator has a code and an 'alternate' code.  the alternate is what works for cube controllers, and like volderbeek stated 0080 must be added to that.  they need a bit of updating, just a heads up.

Hey. I have 2 questions. 1: How come when I go to the world-wide high scores, i see people with 00:00.197 times? (thats 197 mili-seconds) then when i watch the replays, they're like
1-2 minutes long!!!!! 2: I beat a world-wide high score and im not even in the top 10. The world champions had used cheats too! (my name on MKWii is Sorox)

Please answer my questions and i thank you in advance.

P.S. Sorry for bad grammar, im writing this on my wii.

That's weird. I did SNES Ghost Valley 2 with infinite golden mushrooms and I could watch the replay and there was no running into walls. It just showed me using the golden mushrooms throughout the track the way I did.

First question: I tried finding moon jump, but no luck.

Second question: Yes, quite simple. Just put this line:

CC000000 00000000

after the button activator. Couple things though:

1. You have to deactivate it by pressing your chosen button combination again, and then using the item one last time.

2. You can only use this with one activator or you'll have strange effects. If you use that line for the star and a regular activator for a golden mushroom, however, you can still get your desired effect since getting a golden mushroom with any item code will give it unlimited uses.

It's anything between 0 and 9999 (270F in hex). Say you want 5000 VR: just put 5000 in your calculator and click the radial button to switch to Hex mode, and you should get 1388. Just use that.

If you leave the code on, it'll stay at whatever you set it to. You only need to use it once, and it'll just be like you normally have that amount.

The first line checks whether you already have that amount. It's just so it doesn't keep writing to it if it doesn't have to. You could probably take it out, but I'm not responsible for any crashes in that event. :)

About the VR/BR modifier code:
The code in which VR and BR are changed is effective in WFC.
So, I think that it influences WFC.

Always VR 1 and Always BR 1 etc...

Therefore, I do not think that opening this code to the public is good.

Yes
Title: Mario Kart Wii [NTSC-US]
Post by: Cross1955 on August 14, 2008, 03:31:04 PM
VR = Versus Rate / BR = Battle Rate

The value of this VR and BR increases if it wins in the race of WFC.
And, it decreases when defeated at the race.

This rate is used when looking for a other racing player by WFC.
It looks for the player in the vicinity of VR9000 if it is VR9000, and it looks for the player in the vicinity of VR5000 if it is VR5000.
Therefore, I think that the following things happen when this rate is changed.

For example, the act which VR harasses by changing VR into 1 in an average of 9000 race.

Why is it an act which it afflicts ?
It is because VR is greatly lost when the player of VR9000 is worsted at the player of VR1.
And, when VR is always 1, it is a trouble because of other players.

Also, it is not possible to participate in the race of VR9000 at VR1 usually.
VR of a lot of players will be lost by this act. I thought like this.

When my opinion is wrong, I'm sorry.

You have the activator wrong...that activator is for port 2 I believe. I made a post earlier with a correct activator. Look for it.

@ Wii SOS, that sir, is your fault that you don't know how to port. Not ours. Google is a great gift, you should try it.

onimushaclan, looks like when you added the activator u deleted the 30000000 00000014 line of code... uh, y??  and yea as fr0st stated you have the wrong gamecube controller port.  refer to post 136 of this thread for all activator values!

yeaaaa, did my ranting post get deleted??  id assume so.  good call, sorry mods...

you can't port codes without tools and the game.

stop this talk of porting, ramdumps etc etc.  If you want to learn to hack then buy the tools and learn how to use them. Or get another hobby.
Title: Updated Code List Txt
Post by: DrMario on August 22, 2008, 11:12:35 PM
Hello, Great job on all these codes,
I have updated the txt file by Dteyn to include Volderbeek's random item code  (thank you for this BTW) and his code to unlock everything and his code for creating your own button press combinations (I saw Darien95 also had a list of these button presses so I included them too)
I don't think I made any mistakes as all I had to do is copy and paste the codes but I warn you, I am still kind of newbish at using Ocarina.

Just cleaned it up a little, didn't realize that putting empty lines in the comments would start it as a new code in the ocarina code editor.

I have used a couple MKW codes and gotten them to work but this one I cannot:

Game Id: RMCE01

Universal Button Activators - GC Controller Y + A
30343E7F 00000009

Write Char Offset
D27E4DDC 00000002
3FE08000 93BF1500
3BE00000 00000000

Always Have Item *Works anywhere
48000000 809BEE20
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000014
DE000000 80008180
48100000 80001500
DE000000 80008180
1400008C 000000XX
14000090 0000000Y
E0000000 80008000

Using XX = 04 (1 Shroom), Y=1

I entered them in as 3 seperate codes then exported a gct and loaded with ocarina. I've tried with wavebird and normal gcn control in 1p GP, wifi and TT, and in all 4 ports but pressing Y+A does nothing. And again, I've tried the unlock everything and instant finish codes and they DID work, but this one and any other item ones i cannot seem to get to do anything. Any help with this would be most appreciated.

universal button activators is supposed to be added to the front of always have item code. and also you're not allowed to post that on this site  even though its in the codes spot. wifi cheats are forbidden on the forums

I tried it with it at the front, thus only having 2 codes, but still nothing; and sorry i didn't realize wifi cheats werent allowed.

it's for a wired GC controller, and you have to change the values of XX and Y. -.- i'm a bad explainer, but its been said tons of times on this site.

EDIT: this is about the activation codes
Title: Mario Kart Wii [NTSC-US]
Post by: WiiMiiUnI on August 26, 2008, 03:46:07 AM
for button activators, use the code... ie, the code on the first page for 'always have item':

48000000 809BD118
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000008
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 0000008C
30000000 00000014
14000000 000000XX
14000004 0000000Y
E0000000 80008000

if you want to make it so you have the item ONLY when you press a series of buttons, aka a 'button activator' code, refer to volderbeek's post on this thread.  post 136 on page 7 will give you the numerical value of every button for all remotes.

so, you would use the above code, but INSERT the code for a button activator.  post 136 also supplies this code.

3X34YYYY 0000ZZZZ <-- THIS IS THE BUTTON ACTIVATOR CODE.  ONE LINE.
48000000 809BD118
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000008
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 0000008C
30000000 00000014
14000000 000000XX
14000004 0000000Y
E0000000 80008000

see how it is ABOVE the other code?  now, the X YYYY and ZZZZ values are explained... also on post 136.

once you successfully program the code to work for the correct player (P1-P4) the correct controller type, and the right buttons, edit the XX and Y value for the item.

This is a code to have golden mushrooms when I press A+Y on my gamecube controller, player 1:

38343E80 00000980
48000000 809BD118
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000008
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 0000008C
30000000 00000014
14000000 0000000A
14000004 00000001
E0000000 80008000

weapon values can be found on the first page.  thats all the info you should need!  g/l

yes, i saw that. but it doesn't mention the nunchuck, unless that's just a given when you say the wheel? everything else i've gotten, i just wanted to know if there was a seperate code for nunchuck since it wasn't listed D;

Even if you say that, it still doesn't work. Yes I know, the button activators for brawl work, but for some weird reason, the wii button codes just don't work with the Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Oh my God.... why do you post such a stupid non sequitur in this thread!?! at the top of every page and in this forum's description it says that you are NOT allowed to post requests! This is a request. If you do it too much i'm pretty sure it can result in a ban.

Title: Mario Kart Wii [NTSC-US]
Post by: RagnarokSam on August 29, 2008, 06:01:09 AM
Hey guys, whats going on? I just first want to say that I'm new to Ocarina and just found out about it about two days ago when i decided to google search "Mario Kart hacking" after playing an online race against someone using infinite banana peels, and that if it wasn't for all the online hacking going on (as troublesome as it may be), i would have never known about Ocarina or USBGecko (Which i now have an interest in buying once i have some more money).

Anyway, on to the subject i wanted to talk about...I noticed a few people on this thread saying that they were having problems mapping more than 3 button modifiers at a time for the Gamecube controller, and claiming that mapping any more than that is ineffective. Well I tested this and found that this is definitely NOT the case, as I was able to map 8 button modifiers at once successfully. I'm guessing that perhaps where others went wrong might have been a case of adding hex values incorrectly (i.e. thinking 8 + 2 = 10 instead of 8 + 2 = A), but that's just a guess.

On the same note, i also saw people requesting a "Have any item / Scroll through items" code, and found a great alternative through button mapping. By mapping every direction on the D-pad to a different item, you can create a sort of "scroll wheel" of up to eight items to choose from during gameplay, by simply rotating your thumb around the D-pad until you get the item you want.

I have posted a video of this in action here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1wecPS-EIs&fmt=18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1wecPS-EIs&fmt=18)

I'm hoping that people seeing this will clear up some confusion about the button activators and perhaps slow down the requests for "Scroll through item" codes you guys seem to get constantly.

Now, when i put together the activators with dexter0's codes, i was able to put enough together to be able to use the D-pad activators with or without the A button being pressed, which i found extremely convenient and works great......that is at least for the 1 Player version GCT i created. I attempted to assemble a 2 Player version of the same GCT file, but found that because it was twice as big, Ocarina was unable to load it, and was forced to take out the optional "w/o A button"  support for it to make it load. So, because of this bump i ran into, i have three questions that perhaps you guys might be able to answer for me, or at least help with...

1. Would USB Gecko be able to support this large of a cheat?
2. Is it possible to modify this same code to something smaller that Ocarina can handle without losing any of the functionality?
3. Can Ocarina be made to accept such large code files? (I figure I'd have to ask Link about this one.)

For reference, here is the 2P version i assembled together that i'm having issues with, it's a big one!:

[all instances of the "Always Have Item *Works anywhere" code within this code is the work of [dexter0]. (it's actually the majority of it...)]

Title: Mario Kart Wii [NTSC-US]
Post by: smk on August 29, 2008, 11:15:36 AM
Quote from: RagnarokSam;83631. Would USB Gecko be able to support this large of a cheat?
2. Is it possible to modify this same code to something smaller that Ocarina can handle without losing any of the functionality?
3. Can Ocarina be made to accept such large code files? (I figure I'd have to ask Link about this one.)

1. No. The USB Gecko is not the code handler, WiiRD is and Ocarina is based off of WiiRD's code handler. The most both can handle is about 256 lines, so, you may want to count how many lines a code has before using it.

2. Yes, it should be, but you'd have to consult a hacker about it and see what they had to say.

3. No, it cannot as far as I know.

Thanks for the clear-up, i actually meant to say WiiRD instead of USB Gecko, i don't know why i wasn't being specific.

Odd, the code I posted is only 168 Lines long, and adding in the Write Char Offset that's needed adds 3, so it only ends up being 171 lines....nowhere near 256....hmmmm :confused

In combination though with P1s code for items, it's longer than 256. If alone the code still doesn't go through (because of too many lines), I don't know what the problem could be. Your best bet is lowering the amount of lines of the code to probably, 10. Also, 256 was an estimation based off what Link said. So, it's not a completely accurate amount of lines.

the code i posted includes the activators for both P1 and P2 ports, what i meant by having separate versions was because using this code in 1P modes meant having to use controller port 2, and i had created a version specifically for 1P modes that uses the first controller port

short version = this code supports activators for both player 1 and player 2 during 2 player modes, it doesn't require an additional code for player 1, so this shouldn't be the problem.

either way, to make the code more condensed there would have to be a way that i wouldn't have to repeat the "Always Have Item" code for every button activator/item combo i want use, as doing this takes up about 85% of the code, but as you've already said, this is where i need to ask the hackers for their input, and see whats possible (if its possible).

I might do some testing later to see exactly how many lines of code exactly can be handled at once, which could be helpful in the future. :)

256 lines of TOTAL code can be 'injected' into the game at boot, or say, 25 codes x 10 lines?  i use a bunch of codes, i have 5 activators for P1 and 5 for P2.  9x5 + 8x5 = 85 plus a few other codes.  i dont use anywhere near 256, but if i had 8 activators i would lol.

try putting each activator for each item in a seperate selectable code... the wii cheat code manager by link is excellent.  i have compiled a nice txt file with all of the available codes and i use each seperately.

*brodo17, pleaaaase do some reading and you will figure out how to get it to work online.  this thread has tons of info, read it top to bottom.

*and kane301 i assume you're using the wii cheat code manager by link.  make sure when you 'export to gct' you have rmce01 as the game id (top left).  it should now work, provided the codes are right.

i'm having some trouble getting the gamecube controller button activator to work. the code i'm using is the one provided in one of the posts in this thread, and it looks like this:

Press Y+A on GC Pad For Item
30343E7F 00000009
48000000 809BDAC0
DE000000 80008180
4A100000 FFFF9D3C
30000220 00000014
14000220 000000XX
14000224 0000000Y
E0000000 80008000

however, using the key given below:
Quote from: Volderbeek;3526[Button Values]:

(add together for pressed-at-the-same-time effect)

GCN Wii Classic
L 0001 L 0001 U+ 0001
R 0002 R 0002 L+ 0002
D 0004 D 0004 Zr 0004
U 0008 U 0008 X  0008
Z 0010 + 0010 A  0010
R 0020 2 0100 Y  0020
L 0040 1 0200 B  0040
A 0100 B 0400 Zl 0080
B 0200 A 0800 R  0200
X 0400 - 1000 +  0400
Y 0800 Z 2000 -  1000
S 1000 C 4000 L  2000
    HOME 8000 D+ 4000
R+ 8000

this combination should be up + left, and where there should be an 8 for the x value, there was a 0. so i tested out the base code i found, and it didn't work, as expected. then i changed the 0 to an 8 and used the key from volderbeek to make it 0900 for Y+A, and it still won't work. now i'm using the same code for the wiimote given by the same person and i can get them all to work, no problem.
are there any answers i haven't been able to spot in this thread? i've looked up and down all over D:

*also can't get classic to work, but we're still looking into that one.

I'm not going to make this code myself and test it so I'm not 100% sure it'll work, but this is what you can try:

1. Change the first digit on all activators from 3 to 2.

2. Remove this from all but the first section:

48000000 809BEE20
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000014
DE000000 80008180
48100000 80001500
4A100000 FFFFFDB8
DE000000 80008180

3. In the first section with the preceding still intact, move the activator down so it looks like this:

48000000 809BEE20
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000014
DE000000 80008180
48100000 80001500
4A100000 FFFFFDB8
DE000000 80008180
[B]28343E80 0000018A[/B]
1400008C 00000011
14000090 00000003

4. Change all except the last line of these:

E0000000 80008000

into this:

E2000001 00000000

5. Let me know if this works for you. :)

I made an 8 button activator code (using Dexter0's codes of course). It's pretty much like RagnarokSam's code, only for the Wii Wheel. You have to be holding the 2 button (the gas) to get the item. But I'm not going to do a wiimote one because it seems to hard to have to try to activate the code.

The list of activations go like this

1st=Left
2nd=Left+Up
3rd=Up
4th=Up+Right
5th=Right
6th=Right+Down
7th=Down
8th=Down+Left

Of course these are on the D-pad. It has been tested by me and it works!

I would like to thank everyone who have submitted codes for Maro Kart Wii.

I have only encountered one promblem, when ever I use infinite shells or bananas, I will end up in a cycle of being hit be invible items.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks! :)

unfortunately, no, this did not work. The only activator working was Up-Right + A for Triple Red Shells, presumably because it was the only one left in its original state. :(

EDIT: I'm an idiot...lol. I forgot to take the activator from the top off, it works mostly fine now, only problem is that the buttons for both controllers are only giving player 1 the items, but i think i know how to fix this. :)

Success!

by adding this before Player 2's activators:

48000000 809BEE20
DE000000 80008180
58010000 00000014
DE000000 80008180
48100000 80001500
DE000000 80008180

and then changing the one line above that from

E2000001 00000000

back to

E0000000 80008000

made everything work perfect!

On a side note, i just realized that the code i posted earlier was NOT the version that i was having trouble with, but was the working version w/o the optional A button support. However after applying the techniques you demonstrated for the code that i did post to my troubled one, everything worked great! The old code was actually 352 lines long but has now been shortened to 144 (The code line limit IS indeed 256, i was just a fool for getting my code revisions mixed up...lol).

Volderbeek, thank you. You are a genius. I applaud you. :clap

I've had this happen to me too on several occasions. It seems to mostly happen when spamming the same item over and over, but has also happened when using an item sparingly too.

Also, it only does this for projectile type weapons (Shells, Bananas, Boxes) with the exception of Blue Shells/Bob-ombs in which excessive spamming will cause the game to crash.

Spamming anything else though seems to be fine. I would just try to be cautious when using the items mentioned, as i don't believe there's any workaround for the game glitching into repetitive air-flipping other than someone else bumping you out of it.

You should look where I put the values for GCN controllers. It's Here + 0080. Therefore, it's 0980 not 0900. For GCN controllers 0080 is the neutral value; everything else is added to it.

Hey, I been trying to do the button combination activator that was posted here: http://www.usbgecko.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3526&postcount=84

I use the wii remote and nunchuck and since I saw the C and Z buttons in that list, I thought it would work. However, it does not. I made sure the X Y and Z values match and I been trying to use "use item anywhere" and "always have item" with the activator being buttons A, B, and C together. The codes work for my GC controller but not the Nunchuck and remote combo. What am I doing wrong?

As you can see I still kept the XX and Y Values in the codes since there are tons of possibilites for it.

The list of activations go like this

1st=Left
2nd=Left+Up
3rd=Up
4th=Up+Right
5th=Right
6th=Right+Down
7th=Down
8th=Down+Left

Of course these are on the D-pad. It has been tested by me and it works!

This button activator is for P1?

Did you try changing this:
1460 = First Wii Wheel
1998 = Second Wii Wheel

so if its

30341460 0000XXXX
i think you should change it for:
30341998 0000XXXX

did u try it i think it should work:)

EDIT: Also i wanna know how did dexter0 played on the extra stages? did he used codes? if he did can you post the code i wanna play there too :) thanks you! :)

Quote from: Starman;10763Hey, I been trying to do the button combination activator that was posted here: http://www.usbgecko.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3526&postcount=84

Don't know. That should work. Make sure you added in hex of course. ZZZZ should be 4C00.

Thank you very much, now it works. Turns out I didn't do hex since all I did was add up the numbers. To make sure I don't make the same mistake again, how do I make sure I need to change some numbers to hex? I'm kinda dumb with this stuff ^^;

It's really been far too long since any new codes have been released hasn't it?

Many thanks to Cross1955 for this code which I (loosely) ported. It'd been one I was trying to make but didn't have any luck with. Looks like he's good for something besides whining about my VR codes. :lol

Also thanks to dexter0 whose impressive Size Modifier code I partially based this on.

According to Cross1955, this is the highest value you can use without crashing the game: 40800000 (supposed to be about double mega mushroom size)

I haven't really messed around with the code too much, so I can't confirm this.

Max speed modifier code is nice. ^_^

About the value:
According to the result which I tested, probably, it's OK also at a larger value than 40800000.
But, the game isn't stabilized. Wii may be made to work too much depending on a tracks.
And a game becomes heavy. Also, the game freezes in the worst case.

For that reason, I judged that 40800000 was the optimal maximum value in this game.

Nintendo loves doing work for details normally people wouldn't see.

edit: BTW the list here (http://usbgecko.com/codes/index.php?r=u&c=RMCE01) is pretty out of date and should probably be updated to this new list.

Yeah, any numbers between 2 and 4 in floating point (http://babbage.cs.qc.edu/IEEE-754/Decimal.html). So 3 would be 40400000.

Hmmm, I thought I could convert the Cycle code by Volderbeek for players 1-4, but I can't get it to work for 2nd player gcn.

I don't know how I got 080(*Note* 0800 Didn't work for me, had it in both necessary locations) as the last 3 digits, but I need to release the gas, and as long as im not pressing gas I can cycle with Y X and A. I'm just gonna post 1-2 player codes I have, because if player2 doesn't work, I doubt 3 and 4 do. Only modification I made was to [4A100000 0000008C] I though the last 3 digits would correspond with the always have item code for 1st - 4th player.

Hi guys, awesome work with the codes!

I just had one question, is it just me, or does powersliding not work with the speed modifier on?  If anyone has used it and been able to powerslide still, let me know what the max modifier is that you use please.

Because without being able to powerslide, it's not much fun going really fast :(

Thanks in advance!

Well, considering that its a max speed modifier.. Even if you're going faster than normal, it might read your speed as too slow for a power slide to take effect. But try using the Quacker, it can power slide on much lower speeds than other bikes, and the turning is much better.

Quote from: Stealth;12627Hmmm, I thought I could convert the Cycle code by Volderbeek for players 1-4, but I can't get it to work for 2nd player gcn.

You were right about how to make it work for other players. Your problem is clearly the button activators. Don't know how you got those. Here's an example of a button activator for X + A on GCN:

28343E80 FA7F0580

GCN Controller 1(3E80)
X(400) + A(100) + Neutral GCN Value(80) = 580
NOT(580) = FA7F

Get it. Got it. Good.

Trying to convert these for 1-4 is fun :P
Even though I'm noob at it xP.

Getting progress though, Had it so player 1 chose player 2's item(random cycle), and vice versa.
Now I am at player 1 choosing both items, while p1 being chosen normally, and p2 randomly, and p2 cannot chose its own item, it must correspond with what p1 is doing for him to be able to use it.

Yea, I suck :P
But, it makes me think, which is good. I will try again tommorow the right button activators. Unless you get the codes up by then. I have school so I cant have my fun tonight :(
O well :P

Is it just some value in-game, or is it the actual "max speed" assigned to you based on vehicle and character stats?

it's the universal max speed so it works on every car/bike and every character. i dont know what you mean by in game, but it makes you go fast.

Y'know how when you pick the Blue Falcon your max speed is higher than that of someone who picked the Wild Wing?
That's the first thing I meant.

The second thing I meant was some unrelated value, like toggling around having star max speed and its values. (I noticed grass doesn't slow you down)

It doesn't change the speed stat, it simply changes the value that the game reads as "max" speed.

And you'll be going faster than star max speed...

GC Controller:
Y + A = 30343E7F 00000009
Y + A = 38343E80 00000900 - Alternative to above value

Wii Wheel:
1 + 2 = 30341460 00000300
- + 2 = 30341460 00001100

Here are the codes by dexter0. Where would I add the zeros in the GC version? There are more than one zero in the Wii Wheel version.

How can I get both players 1 and 2 to be able to use the Always have item * works anywhere code?

also I only get one item I was wondering if it would be possible to use button activators with that code to get more than one item. I use a Wheel so I think I would only be able to get 2 items per player... I am using Ocarina too if that helps

and no I do not play online I dont have wireless internet so i cant  :-[

you can pm me or email me the answer if you need to I did not hide my email

EDIT: I got the button activators to work... now i just wanna get it to work for both players

I found a glitch that allows this.

First, set up a button activator for the code (I use the Wii Wheel button activators).

Assuming you are player 1, when player 2 gets an item box, hit the button activator while the item is being randomly selected (before P2 actually GETS the item). Player 1 should get the item originally intended. P1 will now have the item, and you can still press the button activator again so P2 can have the same item. If P1 loses the item, P2 must also lose the item for you to repeat the process.

Also, I did this using WiiRD, so I don't know if it will work for Gecko OS/Ocarina.

It does work though with player 1 having all button activated items and player 2 having 1 item the whole time so thats better than player 2 having nothing   :D

Yes, there is another way to do so, but I doubt it works ANYWHERE. The method I found includes wi-fi (2-player), and that pretty much entails the ANYWHERE code.

How do you know it works ANYWHERE? You mentioned a couple of posts back that you couldn't play online.

So either you got a brand new broadband connection, or you took your Wii to a friend's house. There are codes that let you use items in all modes except wi-fi. That does not mean it works ANYWHERE. The actual ANYWHERE code includes the ability to hack wi-fi.

Is there any code to turn all items off except Bananas and Green Shells?

Then maybe this game will be able to be played competitively...

I'm not sure as it could involve wiping the ISO of green and red shells values and data, I'm not a hacker so I wouldn't be able to give a full answer.

Hey I just started using Ocarina and I'm confused with the work anywhere wheel item code, how do you map it to different directional buttons on the pad for the game cube controller? Is there a list of the game cubes controller and it shows all the values for a button? Plus I don't know if this is off topic but when I tried using a code and tried to load Ocarina on HBC it said that this isn't a valid application does that mean that I need an updated version of it? I'm using HBC Beta9 on the latest Wii update. Thanks in advance

Dark7Legend7, ocarina doesn't work with beta 9. You need to get geckoOS (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php?topic=1598.0) to run applications on it. As for the controller values, I think they were posted earlier in this thread.

Also, since this hasn't been answered yet even though I probably know the answer by now...
QuoteI saw a mention earlier in this thread about possibly making a code to use MKDD style miniturboes. Was this abandoned?
