Here is the latest 106F with all the big fixes and improvements:
http://www.usbgecko.com/files/geckoOS16F01.zip (http://www.usbgecko.com/files/geckoOS16F01.zip)
As 106F contained a number of bugs in both the asm and the code, i deleted the old thread, to avoid confusion.
Lots of backend stuff was changed, to improve things at a later stage and allow us to work on Multi Dol game patches.
Once again, sorry for the delay in this release, it just took us along time to find all the problems.
If some cheat codes are still not working, PM me or kenobi the codes, these will just need an extra line or so adding to the code to fix, its nothing to worry about.
many thanks!
Great! I look forward to trying this out!
I'll download this soon as well.
Ill test it for you now, do some bug checking and on certain things on Brawl.
Getting up error on launch on the homebrew channel: Failed to allocated graphics memory
Mistakely corrupted geckoOS files when i took it over to my laptop from another computer.
Hi Fred,
I load from the homebrew channel also and it loads ok. Do you load from SD card or load via TCP or USB Gecko using Wiiload?
Tested. Now WiiRd GCT cheats codes work flawlessly.
(I tested just few codes, i'm testing more)
Thanks for your hard work...
Btw Nuke, i just got it to work i must have corrupted the files last time i tried to take it from my laptop i guess?
Anyways im checking it out now.
Codes works in brawl, time and date is working like it should and SD card is found.
Good Job
Is there going to be a GECKO OS or WIIRD Release that will let you hook into and hack emulators running in Wii mode on the Wii...like SNES9x and Genesis Plus??
Can you use GC codes on this one?
(with or without a Gecko)
thanks Nuke.
yeah nuke umm this is what happened to me, when I tried to run Brawl with a couple of codes on it with the new GeckoOS, how should I put this...basiaclly it tried to start a new game over for me, or it couldn't detect the game save that was already on my wii, IDK why this happened, but when I tried it with the regular Ocarina app it worked fine, another bug I guess, also this version still doesn't support decrypted GC codes form GCT on an SD right?
Thanks Nuke, it works fine with Mario Super Sluggers.
When will this be on the homebrew browser?
@wiiluver35 : do you have the same problem when you use 1.06F01 with no codes ?
after attempting to start a GC-game it went all green, at least for Super Mario Sunshine. it ain't foreign at all though, just PAL SMS with a PAL Wii to try out whether GCN-codes are supported now. But well, it doesn't even boot for me (with all default settings).

Not sure, the version on the browser claims to be this version but it doesn't work.
Yeah, I'm wondering, do Gamecube codes work now?

let me check...brb

No, I believe they do not still (though I could be wrong) it
can load Gamecube Japanese/PAL/NTSC games (depending on your console) like a Freeloader. :)
By the way, is it possible the next release ignores the Wii Error Message for the Action Replay disc, whenever I put in my disc, load it with GeckoOS + Ocarina it starts but says that the Gamecube disc or whatsoever can't be found, if you know what I mean..
Possible if this could get fixed in the next one?
Quote from: wiiluver135;11343let me check...brb
ok it's working now with codes! IDK what happeend to make it try and restart my save file, but w/e...
yayz!!! :clap I'z KAN YOUZE SD CARDZ WIT KODEZ LULZ!!! :clap
BTW sorry it took me so long to reply, I was playing Pokemon Platinum alot :lol
@Nuke:
How did you fix the date/time issue (or should I say what was wrong: Did you have to manually access the date/time and set it or something like this)? I thought it was a HBC-Bug, was it not?
Is it fixed for future games too or just specific to those mentioned?
Furthermore, is there a way to set default options for the config menu like disabling Ocarina - not that it will be active anyway as I have no cheat codes but so it would not even have to search for them...
is that improve
GC Game Compatibility ?

Does that mean just running the console region-free? I would guess that means Japanese 'cube games like Mr. Driller Drill Land or Donkey Konga won't be able to save/load properly then...anyone confirm if that's the case?
Just wondering if I'll still need to use AnyRegionChanger for my Mr. Driller needs after I get my Wii back from Nintendo.

What the heck are you talking about?
GCN Memory cards are, afaik, region-free so they most likely save any region's saves.
Hi:
I understand that ocarina is now included in the Gecko OS. How do I use this feature and cheat codes as I read people writing about?
Also, where would I obtain these cheat codes?
Thanks
Alright seems like this new version is updated in the homebrew browser now.

Apparently you don't know about this. Namco made some games like Mr. Driller Drill Land and Donkey Konga that actually check the region of the console they're running on; if it isn't Japanese they won't load the game save from the memory card. Chipping a Gamecube with something like a XenoGC won't overcome this. You actually need to make the game think you're on a Japanese system.
Gay. didn't know about that.
Hur, I'm sure it's most unlikely to work, but you could test out setting the default language to japanese in the GeckoOS settings or stuff so the game PERHAPS thinks the console you're playing on is a Japanese one.
I'll give it a shot once my console gets sorted; if it works that would be sweet as I'm a bit gunshy of the AnyRegionChanger...
