the advantage comes when you start doing larger hacks than just a few cheats, and you start compiling large chunks of C code and linking it in to the game

Okay, nevermind. This is seems to be longer than writing your own, no matter what. Some things are just unlucky. I should´ve taken more time to think about this :/
