AC:CF Problems...

Me and my friend both own "Animal Crossing: City Folk." We (now) both have softmodded Wiis. I gave her my SD card to use all the data on it for Animal Crossing, which works perfectly on mine. There doesn't seem to be any difference between our machines or anything, yet none of the codes work on her system...

I've checked other games (such as my mods made to brawl) and those work fine, which leads me to believe that there's something different about the disc perhaps?

I'm seriously on the verge of "pissed-off" right now, since there's no discernible explanation, other than machines hate me... T^T

Please... Ideas...?

(and if you need to know anything else, tell me. I'm too pissedoff/scatterbrained to think of everything, I'm sure...)

Well, that link gave me hope, then quickly crushed it.

Yes, we were both right. I have an older version of the game disc, as checks out by my coming home and looking at it, but the issue is that Gecko OS still reads the newer disk (which is actually RUUE-0A-1) as RUUE01. How can I force Gecko to read it differently? I can change the code text file, and make a new GCT file, but if Gecko keep applying the old GCT, nothing's gonna work... >~>

Sorry for DPing, but I just found something...

I took the game home to play in my Wii, and the same thing happened...

It seems that it is most certainly a disc issue.

Again, it looks like I need to find a way to make Gecko recognize that this is a different disc, or that new codes or needed or something... Please, help?

(I may post a new forum now, actually...)

So...there are probably two versions of the disc now. Like Zelda TP. It has two disc versions. Gecko OS reads it with the same game ID but the games use different codes for each disc version. That may be the problem you're experiencing with ACCF.

What is the version on the bottom of your old disc?
RUUE-0A-0?
I'm not here much. If you have a problem with any of my codes, let me know through my youtube account and I'll help you.

The Game ID does not contain a version number.  R = Wii, UU = AC:CF, E = US region, 01 = Nintendo publisher.  Those values are the same for version 1 or 2.

Gecko OS has no way of loading different codes for different versions.  Ultimately, you will need to have separate GCT files, both named RUUE01.gct.  If you switch versions, you will need to switch gct files.  You will need to make sure you use the v1 codes for v1 and v2 codes for v2.  Not all codes will be available for both versions.

Typically, v1 has more codes.  You may want to go to a local game stop and ask if you can trade a v2 disc for a v1.
