Moon jump help in Mario Galaxy

Hi I need a bit of help on making a moon jump code in super mario galaxy. I found the Y-speed by when on the ground equal 32 bit value 00000000 in air greater than 32 bit value 00000000. To confirm that it was the right value I went to Memory viewer and enabled Auto-Update and jumped. The value went up. So I made a button activator so when you press A you would stay at the max height of the jump. But when I activated the code when you push A Mario just jumps normally. A little light on the subject would be nice.

It would be helpful to see the code you wrote.

If you found the vertical velocity, remember that at the max height velocity will be 0 (hooray calculus!)

You be working with an old copy of Mario's data.  It probably moves around, too...are you using ASM?

No I'm not using ASM would that be easier. And give me a while to get the code I'm away from the laptop that has my code.

since *I bet* that you use a 04 code, the template would be:

28xxxxxx yyyzzzz
04qqqqqq 40800000 -> recommended value by me
E0000000 80008000

BUT this game uses pointers (moving adresses) which means that you won´t succeed like this!
Try ASM or Pointer... ;)
If you found the right adress, it will make you *lagg* when jumping, or if you freeze the value with a 04 code without a button activator, it will give you a permanent moonjump without pressing anything. Then you know that it´s right...

You are using ASM. C1... = some sort of store float.  If that was a straight up floating point, it would be negative.

My button activator works so my only problem is how to find the value of marios jump.
Jumping and using one of the values in the air when the game is paused will not work then. So what will.
