@ShadowX39, no one post the Button Activator address yet. We're still waiting for you to post it, like you said in page 13
http://www.usbgecko.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11726&postcount=258
Hope it'll get release soon. It also really saves alot of trouble going to the pc everytime when you want to use certain or different codes.

Quote from: Arudo;12195Hmm... well basically I'm using the WiiRD to search for addresses, and I understand some of the basics of it. Since the Exp values are 16/32 bit, I'd set that... and search like... 0, attack somebody, gain 10 exp and then search 10 right? Then once I've figured that out, I should be able to add the offsets to the other slots in order to alter values... correct?

Yes, you got the basic of it. Except that the EXP in Fire Emblem is an 8 bit value (with 64 as a maximum value (=100)). I know this isn't the place for a little hacking class but here goes :

Always avoid to search for "0" as a value. If you really want to do it, you could just hit "search for unknown value" for WiiRD to start looking at the entire game code... Luckily in FE, the on-screen value is equal to the hex value you should look for. Say you start with 1 exp, you can enter "specific value search", type 1 and search. Once you have set the value to 10, in game, search for this new value (never forget to CONVERT this value to Hexadecimal (10 = 0A) and so on...

On a personnal note : Games like Fire Emblem are a very good start to game hacking since decrypting them is quite "easy". If you ask me, it is even fun (really) to discover stuff and test them. Kind of looking at the game from the inside. Try it and have fun ;). And don't forget to share !

Arudo

Oh. No wonder why I couldn't find anything. I didn't use the 8 bit value... and yeah, I think I might have searched zero. Yeah, I kinda understood the convert to hex part since I managed to alter money values in other games.

I originally tried my hand at hacking DS games with Cheatengine in order to create codes that didn't exist yet, but I've kinda given up because I never understood how to create 'original' ARDS codes since you require the offset to the AR...

But yeah, I'll try to find the exp and slot address/values for the other difficulties and modes... once I have some more free time. It's school time for me now.

Update: Finally, i have a chance to test all the codes on NTSC-US Wii. Yes, they work..YAyyy!! So far I have tested the following codes and they all worked on Ocarina

99Exp
Item quantity
Item Modify
Bless Item

QuoteOkay, this may sound a bit technical... These calculations were made using Ocarina alone. (hence why they start with 02 or 04 instead of 00 (because they're 16 and 32 bits codes))
A character's item slot 1 is located 20000BF away from this character's EXP adress (I'll give examples later) for the US 16:9 version. I don't know about the 4:3 but I guess it's the same. If not, try 40000BD away (that's the PAL-EU version in 4:3)
A character's item QUANTITY slot 1 is located C1 away from this character's EXP adress whatever the version (from what I've noticed so far)

Both item modifier slots and item quantity slots are separated by 28 (hex) from each other.

Here's an example :

Ike's US 16:9 EXP adress for normal difficulty (I think... it doesn't matter !) (for ocarina (=code))
0088A4AF

Say you look for Ike's slot 1 quantity modifier, you take 0088A4AF + C1 = 0088A570. Which means that if you want to have, say, 99 of Ike's first slot item (an Iron sword, whatever), you should enter the following code for Ocarina :
0088A570 00000063

Clear so far ? Right, now you want to transform that crappy Iron Sword into, I don't know, a seraph robe, you should take Ike's EXP adress and add the value I said earlier : 0088A4AF + 20000BF = 0288A56E
Therefore, the code for Ocarina would be :
0288A56E 0000A3A0

And there you go, Ike's got Seraph Robe in item slot 1. Don't forget to set a quantity as well to avoid any bug.

Now that you've got these two adresses, finding the other slots is fairly easy. Just take the adress and add 28 to it :
Ike's item slot 2 modifier
0288A56E + 28 = 0288A596
Ike's item quantity slot 2 modifier
0088A570 + 28 = 0088A598

Thanks for the tip Neo Shadow. To summarize, i use 99 exp codes found by Am3692 in the first page to find other addresses

From Exp address + C1 --> Item Quantity + 1FFFFFE --> Item Creation + 2 ---> Bless Item

Here example:

I have Edward 99EXP: 0088717F 00000063

0088717F + C1 = 0887240 <--- This is Edward slot 1 Item quantity (just like Neo Shadow)

Now i want Edward's 99 item quantity in slot 1: 0887240 000000063

0887240 + 1FFFFE = 0288723E

So Edward Slot 1 Item Modify will be: 0288723E 0000XXXX

Ok, now if you want Edward Bless Item in slot 1 just plus 2 to Item modify address

0288723E + 2 = 02887240 ==> We have Edward Bless Item slot 1:

02887240 00002710 (Thanks to Shadowx39 for Bless value 2710)

For every part, i just need one or two characters to boost up my team.

Noted: I test all the codes on 16:9 screen raito, Normal mode. Correct me if i wrong.

Thanks

Neo Shadow

Yup, you got it right dqstf, nice ;). And thanks very much Shad, the removal of non-promote skill code is awesome !

*SIGH*

I was kidding jeez. I'm not rushing you to post button comboes. Enjoy your discovery. I got a Japanese game called Captain Rainbow last week. That's why I've been fairly inactive

(GHT)

But, button comboes would be cool lol.

But I am not rushing you.

Button combo is the best and a must have for using certain cheats at the right time preventing any crash.

Nothing new on weekends???

(GHT)

well, you don't need to post codes with button activators already in them.

Why not just post the code for IE the gamceube controller in slot 1
so you could put something like 2B457C09 which corresponds for Gamecube controller in slot 1 then post the buttons and their corresponding code. then we could just add them to the code and make it oursleves just like Brawl.

(GHT)

Nothing new, Shad?

Well, it dun matter to meh. Im bot gonna be on my wii til thiursday

g6flavor

Try this to see if it works

Chapter 4 Normal Mode

All Bosses have 1 HP
00888544 00000001

That means 1 hit Kill.

ummm... I just noticed something while testing codes...

Soren: Slot 1: 0288AD4E
Nephenee: Slot 1: 0288DCE  - doesn't this one seem too short? it's missing either an 8 or an A... dunno since they don't work... maybe because of the screen setting. Anyhow, I tried adding that one and Ocarina kept telling me error in code...

I thought that someone might have already noticed and somehow fixed it... guess not, I went trought the pages and nothing... althought I found some interesting codes.

Thanks by the way.

that would be great man!

I don't have the usb gecko, I live in México and I have tried without much success to find it... thanks!

The codes work now that I changed the screen setting but now... If I try to use the weapon creation codes, the game freezes... guess it's because I used 4 on Ike to get the brave weapons... if it has to be one by one, it'll be a bother... having to turn off the wii or returning to menu and restart... -.-" ... or does he have to have no weapon equiped for it to work? ... also, does it have to be a weapon what it's changed to get something else? or it can be any item?

and the game also freezes whenever I leave the blessed item code on, turned out to be shinnon who got the effects and not Soren... at all.
