codes work except button activated ones

I have always had this problem where any regular code (i.e. infinite health) works but any button activated code that say press 1 or minus or any button at all never work. This is for ntsc wii games and vc games. I'm using codemanger 1.2 with gecko 1.9.2.  Although the previous gecko os did the same thing.  Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?  Thanks.

Hmm. Try resyncing the wiimote; press the red button in the wiimote witch is situated behind the battery slot and  red button above the sd card slot on the wii at the same time.

Well I don't know why but updating homebrew channel has wii resort button activate codes working. I will try some more games to see if that will fix me.  Thanks for your reply agrs700.
