Backup Question

Have backed up my wii sports successfully, as i have with mario kart.

However, i'm having trouble with mario and sonic at the olympics.

Have tried at 16x, 8x and 4x with nero...then downloaded imgburn and tried it at 2x.

With all of the above it loads, uses the menu ok and then when you select your event and character it gives error.


Now trying imgburn on another pc to see if it is a drive issue.

If that fails have got an hp branded lightscribe disk to try (mine are lg) to see if that makes a difference.

Anything else i need to be aware of.

Don't want to leave the little one with access to this original disk as it is already suffering from surface scratches after less than a week.

Tried with different media and it worked fine.

Looks like its media sensitive as the wiisports backup had a dummy spit last night but then started working again.

What media is the best generally, have heard verbatum mentioned....

I'm not getting enough information.  How did you back up the ISO file? Also, did you check the file size of it to make sure you got a good dump?  There is a very specific file size you need.

Once you ascertain that you have a good dump, you can burn it in Nero.  Go to Nero Burning Rom, and burn the Image to the disk.  I use a relatively slow 4x speed and use Tayo Yuden DVD-R media.  I have yet to make a coaster.

File size is correct, backed up using a usb geko.

Burn't with both nero and imageburn.

I was using LG media which didn't work but used HP media and it worked.

I guess before i buy a box of media i'd like to know if there is a 'good' brand to get.

I've made about 9 coasters so far with the LG media.
