I recently imported MHG for the Wii, and while the normal game works, the MH3 demo it came with refuses to load. It starts to initialize loading, and then the screen flashes and the screen goes black. I find it weird that MHG would be compatible, yet the Demo it comes with in the same packaging isn't. So is it truly just not compatible, or is there something else I can do to help this out....because this is driving me NUTS!!!! I WANT TO PLAY THIS DEMO SO BAD!!!!

....thanks for any help in advance....

Do you use the latest version of Gecko?
And you could try the rebooter.

TenbatsU

Yeah, I got the latest version, and I have Menu V4.0, so I don't think reboots work on it, at leas they don't seem to be when I try them, regardless of the game.

I tried that and it says -"rebooting with hooks"...and then, "Error loading menu" and then spits me back at the Gecko 1.9 main menu. Am I doing something wrong?

Perform the downgrader instructions at http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,3296.html until step 20 - step 21 will downgrade your Wii to System Menu 3.2 which is not required for making Rebooter work!

I've gotten it to 3.4U now, and I'm still getting the menu error  :-\

You need to downgrade your IOS to use rebooter, the system menu version doesn't matter (just go through the downgrade instructions Link posted, that will fix the problem).  Anyway rebooter shouldn't be necessary, but since this an import game you may just need to select the game language in the Gecko configuration options menu (try going to "Config Options" and selecting "Japanese" instead of "Default" for "Game Language").

Edit: Actually I see that there is a problem here; the game ID for the demo is DMHJ08 and Gecko OS checks for if a game is a Gamecube game by checking if the ID starts with G, U, or D.  The next Gecko version will have this fixed.

Edit 2: Gecko 1.9.1 has been released, it fixes the Gamecube disc detection bug so the Monster Hunter 3-Tri demo should work now.

Fantastic! Works like a charm....thanks so much.
