I'm using the USB Gecko and tried to backup a disc on my Wii, so I followed all the steps in this guide correctly: http://usbgecko.com/dvdextractor.htm
Still it doesn't work for me, although I tried it with the boot disc (Gecko OS 1.06d) and with my SD card (Gecko OS 1.07b).
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and my Wii is updated to v3.3E and modded with a Wasabi chip.
The Homebrew Channel works just fine, but when I try to create the ISO of a Wii disc with Gecko DVD Extractor, there will be no "white progess bar" on my Wii screen and Gecko DVD Extract will tell me about following USB error: "Error sending extract DVD command".
I installed the USB Gecko driver correctly (manually), what's the problem?

Thanks for any help!

Even with the manual I don't get how this program works. Can you give me some quick guide?

i just got my wiikey 2 today and a usb gecko and i have, or had the exact same problem

I kept getting an error message "Error sending extract DVD command".

Then i found this guide. and it now works like a charm!  If you have any problems please just PM me

Quick Guide

1. Install drivers on your PC using the cd that came with usb gecko
2. Burn a copy of the 'launcher' - USB Gecko Firmware Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) ISO for your region USA/JAP/PAL
3. Stick the USB gecko in SLOT- B, not slot-A! and connect to the PC
4. Double click on geckodvd on your PC (make sure the gecko is already connected to the PC)
5. Click on usb tab in geckodvd on the pc and click on connect
6. Turn on your wii and load the launcher dvd. It should appear as a gamecube game if using on a Wii. Click Start. Then the Gecko OS loader screen will come up.
6. Eject the loader disc from your Wii, and then insert the disc you want to backup.
7. On your PC, in gecko tools click 'Extract DVD'...
