Hey everyone, I posted a bit about this in another thread but i figured I should make a new topic for discussion on this idea. Also I know that nuke is a busy man, but hopefully he'll read this thread lol. Basically I thought that maybe I'd botched the installation of my d2pro a bit, but it seems that others are having similar problems so here is my idea. It seems that the drive only reacts to the "launch game" command on some occasions, I can of course boot my games with the rebooter BUT its still doesn't detect the game WHILE rebooting, so it won't apply any codes I have enabled.

My suggestion is as follows, make in the config, an option to loop the disk check until it actually finds the disk (kicking the drive into action), this would also mean, that when using the rebooter, it still checks the disk over and over before rebooting with hooks, so it applies codes there as well.

I think the reason that the disks always boot on the wii menu is because it has a similar check loop, so perhaps if GeckoOS could incorperate this idea, I think that it would fix the problem.

are you sure it's not random error? it's happened to me and a few others who thought it was their modchip.

Black_Wolf

it seems to be the chip, before installation ocarina would run the game 100% but after installation it took up to 10 A presses to run the game. Even if it were random error however, would looping the check still not work for the benefit?

Nuke

would just need a while loop and a break and you get the game id, something like that.

I have tested every mod with 100% bootrate in the past, 1 in 10 times doesn't sound very good.

What media are you using? could be worth trying some other DVDR.

I use the verbatm -r and burn at 4x with img burn.

I rip my games with the httpd thing, dumps the game over the network.

The while loop thing sounds like it would work though, even if its just an option for us minority, it would help I'm sure.

Basically its a bit of a pattern

1st Launch = silent drive, medium length no dvd error
2nd launch = silent drive, LLLOOOONNNGGGG wait, no dvd error

These 2 alternate until the drive kicks in and the game boots. I am actually ok with clicking the launch a few times, but the problem is, the rebooter launches even IF no game is found, so the ocarina codes won't apply with rebooter unless i'm REALLY lucky/
